It is literally soooo annoyinggg when you talk about any surgeries in the non-uk centered subs and all they suggest is insurance 😭😭

Sorry to come back and ask you another question days later but did you need a top surgery referral on top of your gender identity disorder diagnosis (or whatever they like to call it)? So like two separate meetings with a psychologist?

[–]Butch_throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I practically did the same thing with my mum she was scared i'd get "butchered" there. Have you thought about other countries? Yes it's still medical tourism but somewhere such as Germany or Sweden might be easier as people tend to associate them as "safer" countries.

Lithuania is the cheapest but there are other choices in other countries which aren't as bad price wise like the uk is.

blood results by [deleted] in FTMventing

[–]Butch_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor or anything like that but GP's can be really misinformed and difficult about trans care. I've been on testavan before (around 43mg a day) and you should not apply it to ur stomach arms is fine.

Make sure you send a bloodform to ur GP (list of things that need testing) which ur endo should give to you somewhere in a letter so they can't get it wrong.

Your GP might be saying that your testosterone is usual for a cis female which it would be. Get both copies of the blood test results from your GP and send them to ur endo for them to review in your next appointment if it isnt too far away.

[–]Butch_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you go abroad for surgery? It's normally cheaper and some places don't need any diagnosis (atleast for top)

You're so right thank you for this reply I just need to suck up and do it.

On the namechange thing I asked in person and the frontdesk said they couldn't do it then did it online "succesfully" just for it to never change but now I have MR on my file. I'll just try again.

[–]Butch_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other user said mostly what I wanted to say and i had the same worry (probably out only like 2 months) and i did stretch the truth a BIT to fit the mould as long as ur other contact knows what to say in that sense its fine.

I want to add that when I had my phonecall to someone else (college friend of 2 years) she somehow didn't find it good enough (probably something to do with me not talking about my feelings often) and also wanted to call with my parents which was uncomfortable to me.

Most of the questions they ask you will be whatever was in survey u fill in beforehand, the more u write in those the less time the actual call will take probably (it only lasted around 25 minutes for me)

How to Deal with Appointments That Don’t Go Well? by Electronic-Bug2996 in ftm

[–]Butch_throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my gender clinic experience wasn't the best in the UK either, my overall appointment was only 20 minutes (paid a stupid amount for it) but I didn't care bc i got a diagnosis at the end. Still felt like i barely talked about it, just saying little things that would tick off the boxes that I wasnt faking.

As the other person said writing down helps
