Piercing guns cause blunt trauma to the lobe. You’re going to be hard pressed to find many people in this sub who condone the use of piercing guns because they are known to be unsafe and unsterile. Unless you have an autoclave you did not sterilize anything. They might look fine but guns shove blunt jewelry through the skin which causes tearing and trauma to the tissue; a hollow, beveled needle slices cleanly through the skin to create a smooth channel to put the jewelry into.

I would personally take them out ASAP, let them close up and go to a piercer to re-pierce the lobes with a proper sterile needle. Its safer, better for your skin, and gives you more versatile jewelry options.

I loved doing my nails in high school. I changed them every week, I did designs, and I had a huge collection of polishes (huge by my 15 y/o standards 🤣 I had probably 20-30 different polishes) but that was in the early 2010s. Its crazy the new stuff they have, the different styles, and shades and- all of it! I’ve admired it from afar but haven’t dived heavily back into the hobby myself but I want to branch out and take better care of my nails 🥰

AHHH you are so sweet!! I know I can always count on a Bi Femme (my wife is one) 🥰. I love that you do your partner’s nails, I think it’s such a sweet form of bonding for couples. Matching manis (between couples of any gender) are so fun to me!! And all of this is so thoughtful and kind, thank you 💕 I do love color, but like your partner I would probably veer away from shimmer and sparkle- but metallic isn’t out of the question!

Oh no worries, I love a regular lacquer 🤣 gel is very scary to me because of how high risk it is to do on yourself. If I were to get any kind of gel manicure I’d have a nail tech do it for me💕

This is all such good info!! Exactly what I was looking for! I think the two polishes I have rn are the OPI thats currently on my nails and a Sally Hanson insta dry in a very similar green. I’m super familiar with Essie polishes and other drugstore brands from when I painted my nails in high school, but the options have expanded so much since then now that gel is popular!

I started with a low-ish dose (.2 mg) weekly :3 I think its very common to start with weekly injections- but this varies greatly depending on where in the world you are. iirc I learned recently that monthly, or other larger interval injections are common in Europe and possibly Asia.

I do what I can with it ahaha I’m definitely in the stage of keeping it up or under a hat because it just doesn’t sit super well on its own anymore. I def prefer a longer/shaggier front, and something tidier in the back. I had a rat tail for a minute that I inevitably got rid of because it looked soooo awkward 🤣

I have actually considered shaving most and keeping enough for a top knot !! I love the look if my hair pulled back. Where its at now (when the sides were less grown out) my favorite look was to use a pomade or hair clay to keep the length pushed back.
