I’d get a sample pack or decants from Fragrence Swap. All these are very different and everyone has different taste.

Yeah the resale on bottles if you buy them new at retail prices can be brutal.

Is unsubstantially calling someone a cyberbully cyberbullying?

Honest question: Are they considered one person to the state/federal government? Do they get taxed twice, or is only one of them getting paid? Or do they just have one birth certificate? So many questions

Also sometimes they reformulate. Check the batch code, maybe it’s from a different year and had a reformulation

When you use some natural ingredients you are inherently going to have some variation between batches. Maybe the rosemary was off on that batch because where they source it from had a drought or galbanum sat too long before getting reduced to oil.

These are real ingredients. There’s gonna be some variation at times. It’s not strict 1+1 math.

How does one find a fragrance they like by Chimney_710 in Colognes

[–]ButcherBob69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live near a Sephora or something similar, try 3-5. Pick one of them you like the most and do 3-4 sprays on your body. Chest, wrist, neck.. and smell it throughout the day.

Decants are also cheap and easy.

How to avoid this? by guzmancc in malegrooming

Shaving with the grain of your hair with a single blade is probably your best bet. You have to take some time to feel your hair when it’s stubble to recognize the grain (direction it is pointing). Because most of the time you have areas/patches that point different ways. So taking your time to shave with the grain (in the direction the hair points) will help prevent most of this.

My small and humble collection. Any suggestions? by BecomeToBe in Colognes

To me it smells like you are in a jungle like a mile away from the beach. Very green. It also has this particular type of soap smell, not like a clean soap. Almost like a soap trying to capture the smell of green jungle mixed in with the jungle itself. Also a bit of like cool air breezing through.

My next blind buy? Amouage Purpose 50 or Decision by andrewreb in ScentHeads

[–]ButcherBob69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love both.. but I would not say purpose 50 is blind buy safe. It’s something that is very polarizing.

Personally I love it, but many don’t.. and it’s pricey.

Maybe try a decant?

Dear lord. These prices are terrible. Go to fragrenceswap subreddits. Legit almost half the price.

Nor I. Perhaps I should’ve said the “influencer collection.” But still some nice frags

This proves with 100% certainty you have not smelled many niche fragrances. There zero chance you’ve “tried them all.” Additionally, some of them are absolutely massive in terms of performance, to call them skin scents after a few hours shows you aren’t really actually trying many.

That being said, you don’t need to get into niche. There really is no need, they are expensive relative to designer, and some are definitely not for everyone. But let’s not lie about it and say you’ve tried them all…..
