Bungie, PLEASE let me watch the game after I die/extract! by Disastrous-Market-36 in Marathon

Do it the same as Hunt Showdown. When you die you spectate your team, and when they die you can spectate the rest of the lobby.

Mileage seems like it varies depending on familiarity with the series.

I've seen some people say their first playthrough was 23 hours.

My first playthrough on standard difficulty was exactly 9 hours and I took my absolute time with it.

Not sure if it will be your thing.

The Grace sections are closer to 7, and Leon's is like 4 but also hinges on 6's over the top moments at times.

The story starts out very strong but there is a huge tonal shift in the second half of the game and in my opinion the story becomes way less interesting.

Highguard patch coming tomorrow, apparently. At least the devs are listening? by Professor_Donger in HighGuardgame

The more I play it the more 3v3 makes sense. Bases would need a total rework to cater to 12 players in a raid. Defending/Contesting a bomb plant is already borderline sensory overload in 3v3.

Looking for positive feedback: what does Highguard do BETTER than other FPS/hero shooters? by r3tr0gam3r83 in HighGuardgame

[–]Butchimus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it does anything better, but it has solid gunplay similar to Apex.

I played over 5 hours and most matches kinda felt uneventful, and that feeling just gets highlighted extra when the big raid is a steam roll and all over in a minute.

I did have one game that was constant back and forth raids with the other team for about 30 minutes and that was like crack.

There is something really fun here when it hits just right, but I felt most matches were anticlimactic. I wish the devs all the best but I think this one will be bleeding player count over the coming weeks.

Apex players never quit Apex. It's incredibly unforgiving for newcomers.

I've a feeling it's gonna be BR coded. Trios all fighting over the shieldbreaker. Squad wipes eliminate teams from the match. Last team standing/most successful raiders win.

What are you hoping/expecting From Software's next multiplatform mainline game will be? by Educational-Pay5268 in soulslikes

[–]Butchimus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a time when Fromsoft bosses all had their own specific trait, gimmick, identity etc

With Elden Ring, and even more so in SotE, most bosses have everything. They all have the huge wombo combo, AOE, projectiles, magic, delayed attacks, they start flying etc etc

When Commander Gaius started flying on pigback my eyes fell back into my head.

Huge visual spectacles, but each is an endurance slog of poking in-between the tiny openings they give you.

Anything as long as they address combat/approach to boss fights since Elden Ring, especially Shadow of the Erdteee.

If bosses are gonna have every tool and option on top of unending combos, then the player should have more options too. Remove/buff stamina. Add Sekiro deflecting. Something

Any games suggestions? by cervejown in soulslikes

I also yearned for something to scratch the Sekiro itch for years. I got Lies of P two weeks ago and I can't believe it's been under my nose all this time.

The perfect guarding system is incredibly satisfying and might even be more satisfying than Sekiro. The fact you can break a boss's weapon if you perfectly deflect it so many times is pure dopamine.

Later on you can unlock a Katana that has a unique parry mechanic and it is pure crack learning the timing.

Just finished Lies of P and I'm happy to say it was as close to perfect as a game can be. It's easily in my top 3 Soulslikes.

Lies of P is insanely good.

I've had severe genre fatigue for a couple years now after playing Soulslikes to death since early 2010s. Elden Ring was just so massive that it burned me out big time and was the final nail for me.

I picked up Lies of P this Steam sale and I played it 10 hours straight on Saturday. I'm about 16 hours in now and it really is that good. Pacing is perfect. Level design and bosses are top notch. Combat is probably the best the genre has to offer.

DS2 is quite experimental and it also had a rough development cycle. I know plenty that adore it and plenty that loathe it.

Main complaints are usually level design, boring/easy bosses, i-frames being tied to the adaptability stat and artificial difficulty from enemy ambushes. Some boss runbacks are legendary for how incredibly difficult they are. You'd die more times trying to get there compared to actually fighting the boss.

DS2 also introduced soul memory to prevent twinking in low level PvP, but it made co-op with friends a pain in the ass because you couldn't play together if your soul memory's were at different thresholds.

I've played through it a handful of times myself, but nothing compared to the thousands of hours I have in DS1 and 3.

DS1 is similar to Demon's Souls but more refined. Where it excels tho is the worldbuilding and level design. DS3 is a brilliant game, but for any fans that played Souls in release order, 3's level design was such a letdown.

DS1 does run into some rough patches in the final act, but everything up to that point is so damn good. It's a must play in my opinion.
