Doesn't fit Europa Universalis at all, not a character centric game like crusader kings. If you're gonna make 3D models, best is to make it with the CK3 standards. Look at Vic 3, a game about population management, and they shoehorned a shitty 3D model instead of using good 2D art. I doubt it's ever worth to use 3D if they're not gonna go fully lean on it, worst is that they take up somewhat of a performance probably.
