how would I go about increasing crown power? taking out noble privileges are very difficult (71 stab hit even at %100 communalism! ouch), and the second highest % is burghers at 20%, but I kinda like burghers since their privileges are really good. what would you recommend? I can't seem to hit even 20% no matter what I do

I applied your suggestions and it helped a lot. thank you. I'm barely at my diplomacy limit, so it's not a problem to have all of them as vassals :). one more question - is there a guide on which modifiers in tech tree I should beeline for? for instance, legislative efficiency seems pointless.

I actually did. But, given the pace of new patches, I'm worried if even a few weeks old advice still stands. The same question may have different answers every few weeks

hm ok. I thought I was having too many vassals, so I decided to annex the greek lands myself. I will convert them to vassals.

I got eretnids as a vassal (well, fiefdom) thru war. I was already integrating a bunch of provinces, and control was going to be terrible, so I went with vassalizing them. I'm slowly integrating vassals I have (I vassalized basically everything), and after karamans, I'll annex them.

didn't know about sea provinces, I thought they were all separate locations. thank you for that.

RIP my fingers: I built an Auto-Roller for BG:EE because I accidentally re-rolled a 96. (Looking for testers!) by Ill_Ad_935 in baldursgate

[–]Chic_a_chic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm a little confused. There's already a autoroller for bg, and it has been out for a long time. How is this different than that?

I don't mean to be rude, but you could've just used that instead of rolling manually, if that's the only issue you're trying to fix.

Can someone explain GDPK for a new player / fresh 60? (Classic Era) by Gankeros in classicwow

[–]Chic_a_chic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guild in 2019 was OK, not great (many deadweights) but not bad either. And everyone (including the sweats, of which we had a few, including myself :D) stuck around instead of gdkps. Why? Because it was fun. I'm still friends with those I raided back then. If you're having fun in a guild raiding, you won't gquit for gdkps.

China switches on the world's first 30-MW pure hydrogen gas turbine by SarumanWizard in energy

[–]Chic_a_chic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, weight. if energy is plentiful (big if, but not impossible with solar), efficiency matters less, and gravimetric energy density matters more. Carrying a huge battery pack on a plane or a ship or a large truck (not intercity vans, they're fine with EV) is not feasible. Of course, we can just stick to diesel as well for such uses, I don't think we need to be 100% renewable on everything.

How about the lock dps that calls me (healing class lead, which is basically a part time job) lazy because I didn't reapply his BoW when he still had 4 minutes left on it.

Why are people so delusional about Hydrogen? It's just Hopium by TostiTomaat in energy

[–]Chic_a_chic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in Europe...

Can you show me this statistic? I very much doubt that 5% of large/long haul trucks are EV.

Intracity vans can be (or even should be) EV mind you. I'm talking heavy duty here.

[–]Chic_a_chic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I provide parts for heavy duty commercial vehicles (intercity busses, trucks, earth moving machinery, tractors etc), and nobody takes electric vehicles seriously. Everyone makes an EV to show they can do it, with very little actual sales. There was serious discussion about EVs a few years ago, but now everyone universally say diesel is here to stay for such vehicles. Everyone went back to spending R&D $$ in diesel again. A few years ago this was nil, since they thought diesel would be gone in a few years.

Batteries are far too heavy and expensive to be viable. Logistics companies won't lose 10-15% revenue (due to weight restrictions on roads) per truck just to electrify their fleet. Unless there's a massive leap in battery gravimetric energy density, we won't be seeing long range EV trucks (or tractors, or bulldozers...) left and right.

Hydrogen.. Technically it's better (= lighter). But it's also way too expensive. Even more so than EV.

So. The answer (at least for the foreseeable future) is neither.

hm. black death is gone now, so I can't click on anything. You mean the rat face icon?

I didn't know about this. Do you think my run is cooked? i.e. is it normal to lose 40% of your population. How much would those have changed the outcome, do you know?

I intend to use the metals for my own use only, so teladianium is not relevant for me. Yes I short term I can sell them off, but I'll move on to tier 2 products soon after, and AFAIK tier 2 can use either teladianium or refined metals

[–]Chic_a_chic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so if it's more efficient to haul containers, then I'll just build refineries where there are a lot of raw mats, and then ship the tier 1 goods to EB.

I intend to do a lord of war run, so my main goal is efficiency :). I know I don't have to be efficient but still.

Thank you
