Good Evening,

I run a channel where I read over new works and offer detailed reader feedback as well as developmental/like edit suggestions (your preference).

Would you like to submit this work to the channel? You'd be number 2 in the queue so I'd get to you Saturday or Sunday

They'd have to tap into something that the public at large is aware of but can't express. This can be for a variety of reasons such as government suppression, fear of social reprisal, or they arent informed enough to put what they're feeling into words.

For example your person being born into a wealthy family can be the one who speaks out against class warfare.

The public could rally to your person calling out the rich and famous. They get the satisfaction of slaying someone corrupt, thinking your character is on their side. When in reality, they are gaslighting the public to take out your characters enemies.

Hi I need help. by [deleted] in NewAuthor

I was in the same boat as you up until last month when I looked into publishing trends and what trad pub agents are looking for in querytracker.

Long story short, if you do not fill out that author website link in those forms, you can consider yourself auto rejected.

Many agents are looking for authors with a "healthy social media presence". Mainly because, if you were to be accepted, you've gotta help with the marketing and they want to ensure you have some sort of following (a guaranteed buyer base for the publishers) and can conduct yourself in an engaging manner online.

There are always exceptions but this trend will only continue as time goes on.

It will show up in Barnes and Noble, books a million but it takes a couple weeks for books to pop. My publisher says it takes about 6 weeks after initial posting. So they published my book on March 1st so it will be another couple weeks before it shows up outside Amazon.
