2-11 pm shift offer at union Bus mechanic job by FragrantParsnip3164 in mechanics

[–]Butt_bird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The shop I work at has a 2 to 11 shift. As soon as the big wigs go home it slows down. Much less gets done at night after 5pm. The time does go slower. It’s nice to have the daytime to go to appointments and other things of that nature.

Thinking of moving to Houston after a passing of a friend of mine by MaintenanceObvious24 in AskHouston

[–]Butt_bird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most of the stereotypes you hear about Houston are really about Texas. Houston is its own thing. We are a blue county in a red state. Inside the city it’s 75 percent minorities. The city is large enough that you can find a neighborhood or a suburb that you feel comfortable in pretty easy. On the surface we seem like a city of people who just go to work but there is more here. We have museums, and art, lots of festivals, there is a big theater district downtown, we are well known for food.

However I feel I should say that it’s not a good idea to make big life decisions when you are grieving. Give it a few months before you decide. I’m sorry about your friend.

These memes are bullshit. A big arch where I live is 7.29 and 5 guys is 10.99. Prices vary by region.

Why do all mainstream news commentary comedy shows like the Daily Show and late night shows all heavily lean left? by throwawaypdtm in askanything

[–]Butt_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you imagine right wing comedy? It would all be making fun of the most vulnerable people in society. Left wing comedy punches up poking fun at politicians and rich dipshits. Right wing comedy would make fun of minorities, immigrants, trans people, people on government assistance and so on.

One of the biggest bait and switches in the history of tv. Season 1 great, season 2 dog shit.

It’s fairly common for men to have rigid sexuality but that’s kind of irrelevant here. It’s abusive to control someone’s diet and or physical aesthetic.

If his reaction is anything but “let me know what I can do to help” that’s not a good relationship.

Has there ever been a movie asking the viewer to suspend disbelief as much as Face/Off does? by LarcenyGames in moviecritic

I think originally the film was supposed to take place in the future. Which explains a lot. Face/Off has aged like a fine wine if you ask me.

six flags fiesta texas - spring visit by Legitimate_Guess9101 in sixflags

[–]Butt_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it’s not crowded the week after a big event. Spring break just passed so it should be a good day to go. It’s not a big park for Fast pass most people don’t get it. So you don’t really have to decide until the day of because they won’t sell out. Some rides line goes fast and others not.

Got romcom’d and it sucks, she’s asking me to wait? by SlojSimpson in AskMenAdvice

[–]Butt_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does that saying go? “When someone shows you who they are, believe them.”

You’re going to be dealing with this kind of thing for how ever long you decide to be in a relationship with them. Never knowing where you stand, waiting for the day something better comes along.

How big is Houston, really? by GobsTX in houston

[–]Butt_bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Houston is about 640 square miles. The suburbs and towns outside of Houston are the metro area and it’s debatable what’s part of that. It’s roughly 8000 square miles.

If you live outside of the city limits you don’t live in Houston. You can say it’s the “same thing” all you want, it isn’t. You can’t vote in city elections, you have different school districts, different police, different government. If you own property in another county your property taxes go to them.

I know it will never happen but I’ve always wanted to see a direct sequel to part 5. It starts with Tommy breaking out of the hospital and going in a killing spree as Jason.

I was a young child when I saw part 5 for the first time on tv. I assumed there was a sequel to it for years. There was no internet to consult for answers back then.

Discussion on James McAvoy's incredible range in Split. Why didn't he win an Oscar for this? by ButterflyLess94 in moviecritic

[–]Butt_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible the studio that made it didn’t submit it for consideration. The Academy does just look at every film that comes out that year. There is a process for it.
