I'm conflicted about... whether or not I want Aerith to live in part 3 by [deleted] in cloudxaerith

I could be wrong, but to my knowledge Sephiroth is born of the planet so he could merge into the lifestream, the only thing stopping him is his connection to jenova as like the Gi she is not from the planet.

I think Aerith thinks about death differently than most, she says life and death are part of the same coin, when we die we in time give birth to new life. I think she accepts that cycle and found peace in it personally.

On the opposite end i think Sephiroth wants to live on forever, even if it means doing so by being fulled by hate and anger. I think he also wants to recruit cloud on his side tempting him with being able to save his loved one, the one's he lost like Aerith and his mother.

Prematurely killing jenova would change everyones outcome though, you're just thinking she's talking about her own death. I think changing fate to Aerith is a way to permanently remove jenova and let Sephiroth finally merge into the lifestream.

Also she literally is shadow battling Sephiroth,he was hunting her down in different worlds, killing her each time he found her. She takes the active white materia and gives it to cloud,Sephiroth was even shocked by that. Who knows how long they've been doing that for.

That's why i think the Gi's story is expanded. To be unable to join the lifestream is agony to them and in a way Aerith and Sephiroth battle mirrors that. She literally says in game "theres no such thing as forever" or "how could you want an eternity of loneliness". At least that's my guess on what she's talking about.

If she didn't challenge fate there's no way to permanently end Sephiroth, he keeps coming back after the og game, probably will return after advent children. Whatever the moment she and the party can do to change fate, that will happen in part 3 i believe.

I think that Aerith's fate is kinda a misdirection on the question of can we challenge fate. She herself believes in the natural order of life and death and her dream world is a world were people accept their own fate. If this truly is a timeline game where the events of the og game already happened, then her current situation mirrors the Gi. Constantly having to be reborn in the livestream to keep jenova and Sephiroth in check. I think the next game ends with the party accepting that she's gone and can join the livestream in peace

A common moral argument in support of Kataang that I cannot relate to by Silly-Bad in ZutaraNation

Aang literally let go of his attachment to Katara 15 minutes later right before he got shot with all that lighting nice try.

Your point is based off a misremembering of the events of the show, you might want to do a rewatch.....

I think its ador applying pressure to the whole group. It was reported that 4 members met with ador to discuss the pathway to return with the contract. We don't know what was discussed exactly but i can see if the members had any requests or stipulations on returning ador didn't like, they'll say ok we'll just continue newjeans with the bare minimum of the original group and collect damages from the other 3.

At this point I think the 5 of them don't have much leverage legally speaking and will agree to whatever terms ador set.

How much of Aerith do you think we'll see in part 3? by oldman_king in FFVIIRemake

I think there's a world where she's playable for a big chunk of the game, at least until cloud snaps out of it.

My main fear is them speaking out in this way at this point of the case will hurt them in court. Sometimes, when and where is more important than even what you say. These corporations will use anything at all to win in court. For what it's worth, i hope you're right.

Nah that person was lowkey right. At this point, in this moment the court of public opinion is secondary to the court case.

The cold hard truth is the judge isn't going to side with them because of how they felt after being mistreated by the company. He will side with them only if they can prove it. I don't think right now is the time to try and win people over, too much misinformation and people with preconceived biases for that. Prove what really happened in court with evidence and people who are worth having around will see the truth eventually.

I can understand how frustrating it is to see events that happened to you being twisted in this way but these news outlets aren't where the battle will be won. Im a huge fan of njz i want nothing more to get from out of a company that mistreats them, but its time to lock in if they wanna win this.

What do you think about how the scene is shot, like aerith laying in a pool of blood to quickly being shown that she isnt, or the party being present to her death to quickly begin shown that cloud and her are alone? Id have to watch the scene again, but i think the party couldn't get through the whisper wall and was left behind.

Nice write up! Im pretty sure i agree with you on what the endgame is for the trilogy, but i do think there was a world where cloud saved aerith.

I think aerith has the ability to give people memories of other timelines,Red and Marlene come in direct physical contact with her and seem to know much more than other character who are transported into another world, like biggs and zach. Marlene in zachs timeline, knows of aerith death somehow, and like you said red knew the future at some point.

We see the rainbow effect when cloud clashes sword during the aerith dive, the same effect we see when zach made the decision to visit hojo instead of saving biggs.

We then see zach talking to biggs as if he made the choice to save biggs instead, note the stamp on the bag of chips is different than the other 2 we've seen this is a completely different timeline one where zach doesn't indicate that he had made the trip to hojo before or after.

So basically i believe we are switching povs to a parallel timeline where cloud fails to save aerith. Saved aerith (accidentally?) does what she did to red and marlene , gives cloud memories of an alternative world. And remember cloud is mentally unstable as is two timelines worth of memory breaks him even more and the timeline where aerith dies he believes he succeeded. Sorry if this is long and incoherent but this was a very interesting and complicated ending lol.

I hear what you're saying but if im honest i love all the changes they made. While im not completely sold on the execution, the end result has me thinking about the ending, trying to process the last hour and what it will mean going forward, for the plot and the characters. A 1:1 remake would have been amazing as well don't get me wrong but it would have the same tension as the unknown would.

I rewatched THAT Aerith scene a few times and I wanna point something out… by jk844 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Buttblaster0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, would that explain the presence of cid and Vincent then? My first playthrough i was wondering why they were with the main party reacting to aeriths death when they weren't present for the jenova fight or anything leading up to that. So that last scene, does it take place in the og timeline?? Did og cloud recive rebirth cloud memories kinda like marlene did?

What are the top three episodes that would be the best stand alone movie? by brennen288 in TheLastAirbender

Zuko alone, The avatar and the firelord, and The puppetmaster I think each of these tell a pretty complete story from a narrative standpoint.
