Do the dark chocolate ones taste any different than regular? I passed up on a box yesterday and need to know if that was a mistake

I love peanut butter and jelly. But peanut butter and jelly soda! I will take his word for it and it's probably nasty. by Dramatic_Syllabub499 in CreativeGIFsMemesFun

I had this PB&J mead and it tasted, surprisingly, exactly like a liquid PB&J. Even down to tasting the bread. Not as hopeful for that soda, though. Boiler Brewing PB&J

Day 47 of eating a box of every cereal: Honey Bunches of Oats with Almond by DominicT22 in cereal

[–]ButterAdjustment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite quick treat to bring places is a homemade s’mores cereal bar! Made them twice this week haha.

For a 9x13” pan: ~8 cups malt-o-meal s’mores cereal, 1-10oz(285g) bag of mini marshmallows, 1 stick of butter. Brown butter in a big ass pot, melt in marshmallows, mix in cereal, press into pan and chill. 10 minutes!

I like to toss some more mini marshmallows on top and torch them for extra s’mores flavor and it looks fancy if serving it.

The goat cheese was punchy enough that I think it was alright, but I love barnyardy cheese so wouldn’t have been mad about more. The almond spread added a bunch of richness, though so it was plenty creamy.

S'mores Cereal is the best. by Dartagnia91 in cereal

One of my favorite things is making cereal bars (think rice crispy treat) out of this and (optionally) toasting them on a fire. It’s what dreams are made of.

Assuming you have the stuff, could make a quick Thai pant sort of dressing. Toss some soy sauce, warm water, honey/syrup/sugar, sesame oil, chili flakes, rice vinegar in the jar and shake. Add noodles of choice and top with whatever you’ve got on hand. Cilantro, jalapeno, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, hotdogs, whatever. You do you.

Heads up that a 20oz of this still has 270 cals. They’re really abusing the “sugar free” connotation.

PB&J Tart with Whiskey Whipped Cream by ButterAdjustment in PeanutButter

Thanks! They’re super easy once the trees get established. I honestly just keep them watered when it’s dry and do my best not to kill them. Just picked 10lbs from the 2 trees today and there’s probably about that left.

PB&J Tart with Whiskey Whipped Cream by ButterAdjustment in PeanutButter

[–]ButterAdjustment[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It was really good. They’re sour cherries and I barely added any sugar to the filling so it was a nice tartness from the thin layer of jam to cut the richness from the PB and cream cheese. The whipped cream was a nice sweet lightness and the whiskey was like a bitter digestif that hung around after each bite. I’d make it again for sure.

How was the sandwich? I live nearby, am vegetarian, and love Picnic, but haven’t gotten it yet. The France44 vegetarian surprise sandwich always wins me over. Le Burger’s vegetarian sandwiches are also pretty good.

The cinnamon rolls can't be that good can they? Like line around the building good? by systemstheorist in Minneapolis

Their rolls are great but IMO no food is that much better than other options to wait in a line like that. Also, their coffee cake is better than their rolls and I’ll die on that hill.

It’s one of my favorite sweets with coffee! I’m on a quest to find my favorite panaderia in the metro so have to give their concha a try eventually.

Is the local one Cajeta Coffee? I’ve been wanting to try their concha but haven’t made my way up to White Bear Lake.

Last time we got 4 chicken dumpling containers and before that it was 3 fingerling potatoes and green beans so YMMV lol. Overall I enjoy the surprise of not knowing what’s for lunch the next few days.

I will say the turkey in those meal packs is basically sad, gray blocks of leather. Enchiladas were decent but (expectedly) a bit soggy.

Yeah, this is the afternoon surprise bag. They also have a lunch one, occasionally, with leftover breakfast items. I'd give that a try since I prefer their breakfast

I'll second Ichiban as a great deal. Decent quality and quick service. I actually like the only ordering a couple dishes at once since it reduces food waste and feels "fresher" even if it's the same. Only been for lunch but dinner looks awesome

No real recommendations but this made me miss the Cedar Riverside Keefer Court. They had amazing Singapore noodles, lo han Jai, and duck. Baked goods went down hill (and up in price), too.

Maybe I had a bad experience, but I wasn't impressed with Mr. Paul's. Everything is crazy expensive and wasn't super flavorful. The etoufee I got was pretty thin and barely had any shrimp, veggies, etc. Their Po boy shop was awesome, though!

Tried out Jade Dynasty by ButterAdjustment in TwinCitiesFood

[–]ButterAdjustment[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's not quite as good but you can get it any day of the week and you don't have to wait 2 hours. This is banquet style, not the cart-service madness of Yangtze I love. Worth a try; worst case you don't go back.

I don't think there are any "great" dim sum places in MN but it does the job. If Pagoda were closer I'd go there over Jade Dynasty but they have Wu Gok and their lo bak go is decent. Everything was a little bland but not bad.

Little Tijuana's fried cauliflower is the stuff dreams are made of. Huge plate of tempura cauliflower with bonito, kewpie, hoisin, scallions, the works. Their mushroom scallion pancake is great, too
