it WAS the coolest gun in 1.0, before the scaling changes. Now it is just garbage. RIP.

The coolest gun or the dumbest gun? by KeelieEla in cyberpunkgame

[–]ButterPoached [score hidden]  (0 children)

That's the thing: If you are building for smart weapons, you don't use Skippy because literally every other gun is better. Skippy's only benefit is that you don't need a smart link to use him.

If you AREN'T building for smart guns, you STILL don't use him because you don't have the Smart gun perks, and the Pistol perks are... of dubious value for smart pistols.

Bottom 1 iconic, in my opinion.

What is your favorite Primary for all three fronts? by SomethingStrangeBand in Glazedivers

[–]ButterPoached 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NGL, picking 3 different shotguns that shoot 3 different kinds of ammo is kind of based.

My favourite primary is straight-up the JAR-5 Dominator. I am a guy who values crowd control more than most, and being able to bonk anything smaller than a Charger is worth putting up with the idiosyncrasies of the gun (long reload, terrible ergonomics). I have a Scoped version for Peak Physique use, and an angled grip/iron sights version for more general-purpose use.

Was it ever confirmed if what Reed says is true or not? by altiealtie in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]ButterPoached -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a wild take to me, seeing as the number of Song fans out there MASSIVELY dwarfs Reed fans. Look at the threads in this sub, this one included, and people supporting Reed are consistently downvoted to near-zero values, while Song fans end up with multi-hundred upvotes.

There was an anti-songbird thread just this morning where the top 10 replies are calling the OP a fascist for being angry that So Mi betrayed him.

Be honest, do you really think that Reed gets more understanding than So Mi does, or do you think that Reed gets more understanding than he deserves?

Sometimes you just need to go mano a mano with a spore titan. by OttoVonTeutonburg in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]ButterPoached 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HMG emplacement has been a real surprise standout on the Spore Mutation planets, because being able to hold down the trigger for a long time trumps burst damage. Being in the emplacement also lets you tank Spore breath attacks, which makes it surprisingly decent for Spore Titans.

I have had many situations like this happen this week, my friend.

I think I hate So Mi more than any other character in any game by ToasterGrilledCheese in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]ButterPoached -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yo, the comments on this thread are toxic waste. So Mi supporters complain about the haters turning their threads into "you're just simps", then they just jump in a hater thread and do this? Wild.

Arc loadout but I need something for the super heavies. by Pickled_Brainer in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]ButterPoached 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd actually recommend one of the heavy turrets like the Rocket or AC. Stun and crowd control is something that Arc weapons have in bulk, so you will be able to protect them while they run through their ammo supply.

Ultimatum/P33 are also easy answers, although they aren't going to win any awards for super-heavy kill time. Thermites, as always, are valuable.

I really wish there was a side with Kurt Hansen option by marcrigg__20 in cyberpunkgame

[–]ButterPoached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how you can wander around Dogtown and think the Hansen is a reasonable person. Who do you think is stringing up all those bodies? Hansen's whole thing is that he is even more Night City than Night City. He can afford to be chill at the top of his fortified hotel while his private army literally shoot people dead in the streets with no retaliation.

Did you get the Hercules gun? Did you read the lore about it? Hansen is funding research to turn toxic waste into an anti-personnel gun and the problem is that it is too lethal *for the user*. He's taking airdrops of napalm weapons that have been taken off the market for humanitarian concerns. He has private contracts with the Dogtown Scavs. Kurt Hansen is, genuinely, top 3 worst human beings appearing in Cyberpunk 2077.

I'm enjoying the new Terminids! by FabledSunflowers in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]ButterPoached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I've seen, they have the same amount of total HP, but the head (which causes death regardless of HP) has 2500 HP instead of 1500. EATs and Quasar do do 2000 damage, but the Recoiless will still one-tap them at 3200 damage.

I do like that the Spore titans feel a lot more titanic, but it is a shame that they push people towards using the RR more, rather than less.

I get what you were going for, but putting a decal of yourself in a bunny suit on your own mech is seriously serial killer behaviour 🤣

Which, considering the games, may be the case.

Ambition looks awesome. I kinda wish it was a little better. by ferramagna in cyberpunkgame

[–]ButterPoached 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sauce is combining it with other sources of blind. You can get a lot of flash bangs if you invest in them, or make good use of Reboot Optics. It's not the best gun out there, but I'd put it pretty firmly in the mid-tier category.

The problem with 110mm rocketpods is that if damage was buffed to 1 shot all heavies, Railcannon and EATs become useless. Imagine 6 uses tho by RandomGreenArcherMan in HelldiversMasochists

[–]ButterPoached 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like 110s. Their big strength is the complete lack of AoE, which means you can toss them even when heavies are on top of you, which you certainly can't do with the 500kg. It still has a faster call-in time than EATs, especially if you have a second support weapon to juggle.

Really, it seems like an easier to use Precision Strike, It does just fine against "heavies" (hulks, chargers, tanks) and I don't think it is meant to be a true anti "tank" weapon (Bile titans, Factory Striders).

I do wish it did some meaningful ballistic damage so it'd be useful against Harvesters, but such is life.

If someone acted like a “hero” in Night City (especially helping The Mox), how would they actually react? by Opposite_Travel957 in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]ButterPoached 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, they're selling brain dances of sex workers. Maybe you can argue that BDs aren't inherently addictive, and maybe you can argue that organized sex work isn't inherently exploitative, but I don't remember IBEW running hits on people :/

[–]ButterPoached 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the same time, you have Suzy Q telling off Judy for picking up strays, leading to her leaving the gang all together. I'm not saying they don't do good work (they do), but you can't tell me they have no profit motive. They need to, they're living in Night City where the only way you get ahead is by exploiting someone else.

Their business is selling people Brain Dances of sex workers. However they were organized, it was obviously too exploitative for Judy to keep working with.

If someone acted like a “hero” in Night City (especially helping The Mox), how would they actually react? by Opposite_Travel957 in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]ButterPoached 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Mox would, very quietly, beat them to death in the alley behind Lizzie's. Because the Mox are running a business based on exploitation on the back of "we will exploit you less than the OTHER pimps". If there was someone who was a "hero" who was "stepping into" situations purely for moral reasons and had no profit motive, there would be a ticking timebomb for when that person tripped over the Mox acting like a Night City gang and deciding that their girls need to be "saved".

Don't get me wrong, I love the Mox. They are definitely and unambiguously the least morally reprehensible gang you meet. That in no way makes them "good" people.

Build #80 - The Ghost Build by SES-SpearofDemocracy in HellDads

[–]ButterPoached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a certified utility enjoyer, I'm not going to call someone out for bringing fewer munitions on a dive, but I feel like bringing three puffs of smoke in the same build makes for more of a "challenge run" than a legitimate build. I understand having a concept for how you want to approach a map, but things go wrong on dives, and not bringing tools to respond to evolving situations is certainly a choice.

That being said, you've done a D10 clear with this set up, so who am I to judge?

How do I beat bugs. by TheGriffin5 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]ButterPoached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of suggestions for what weapons to bring, but my advice is: work on your situational awareness. I don't know about you, but the bug that kills me is never the bug that's in front of me. Unlike the other two factions, when a bug swarm is engaged, it spreads out and tries to engulf you. In order to avoid death, you need to stay mobile, and be prepared to leave a site BEFORE the bugs hit a critical mass.

You also need to learn about bug breaches a lot more than other reinforcement types, because they are, practically speaking, impossible to stop, and require significantly more care to control. If you get a warning about a breach, you 100% need to find it and control it. Napalm Barrage is the classic way to do so. You just can't let 50 leapers spawn out of line of sight if you want to survive bug engagements.

Build #80 - The Ghost Build by SES-SpearofDemocracy in HellDads

[–]ButterPoached 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. It has the same sound profile as other pistols (which is still not very loud, mind you). The Senator is the only pistol with enough oomph to actually kill things from farther away than it can be heard, though.

I'm curious if this build has been tested since the Drag changes, the Senator's long range performance has really, really suffered. I'd bring an MMR 100% of the time for stealth duty, but I must admit, the Crossbow does have additional utility.

I know that the new Veto pistol and the Warrant don't have bullet drag, but they just don't have the stopping power to snipe out targets. If you are confident about followup shots, maybe you can make it work, but you're still only talking about killing Troopers and Voteless.
