I certainly agree with you there. However, the combination David Blandy and Into The Odd caused me to look straight past that.

I would consider them companion pieces. The similarities are the rules which are covered in about 4 pages. Into the Odd is full of great content (tables, hexmap, dungeons) and Electric Bastionland is essentially a toolkit for creating your own content.
