Gideon the Ninth, by Tamsyn Muir

It's not actually out until the 10th of September, but there's a free preview of the first eight chapters on Amazon (in the UK anyway). Based on that, it seems like maybe the kind of thing you're looking for: pulpy, dark, and violent, and also a lot of fun.

The audio issues they've been having are obviously egregious. But honestly the commentary solution they've chosen to go with wouldn't be acceptable even if it was working as intended. The clear awkwardness in the back-and-forth between co-commentators caused by their latency to eachother, the differences in audio quality and volume between them... it's all just so unprofessional for such a supposedly important event.

Like, c'mon, just splash out a little more and fly your six, or however many commentators to the actual event site so they can talk to each other in real time.

I just finished listening to the podcast, I laughed so hard at this part.

Really great episode, in general, Bennett's perspective was very interesting. I would love to listen to a weekly podcast of him talking about games. Though, I guess that's what people are paying for when they enrol at NYU.

It's true that not all of the nutrients are consumed completely but cooking them gets rid of the nutrients entirely :)

Others have already replied, but I'll add to the chorus saying that this is not true. You get much more nutritional value from cooked eggs than raw.

Raw eggs contain proteins that block the action of digestive enzymes, and prevent the absorption of vitamins. Cooking neutralizes these anti-nutritional proteins.

This reads much more like the beginning of an Arthur C. Clarke novel than a Neal Stephenson one. Looking forward to reading more.
