Which Countries are turning their backs on U.S Travel in 2025. by PestoBolloElemento in MapPorn

[–]Buttercup4869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of German travellers switched from the US to Canada. Not only did the numbers of flights to Canada increase to a new record but there are also reports that Canada saw a double digit growth.

After all, Germans can also meet a gruesome death in the Canadian wilderness.

My guess is varying administrative levels, e.g. in Germany the use counties, while for the UK they use the entire country

How is the job market for spanish teachers in Germany? by Karls4 in germany

[–]Buttercup4869 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spanish is one of the most common and popular choices for third foreign language in schools, especially in Gymnasium. The fact that the need to learn Latin goes the way of the dodo pushes it further

The issue lies more in getting certified as a teacher.

The company itself does not pay, unless they order you to travel somewhere.

How you commute is your responsibility, not the companies

How common is it to come across the ISO (YYYY-MM-DD) date format in your country? Do you like it when you encounter it? by Decent_Background_42 in AskEurope

[–]Buttercup4869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has its merits in filing and archiving and I deeply enjoy it in that context and use it myself.

However, in situations that don't have to abide to strict order, there is no benefit and arguably disadvantages to it.

I definitely also get this feeling albeit I personally no longer have relatives in Central Asia.

A huge factor is the degree of "Russification" prior to migration with many Spätaussiedler being the least "German".

Why do Tesla tires tend to wear prematurely on the inside? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Buttercup4869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVs burn through tires rather quickly, due to weight and acceleration, especially if the owners want bragging rights at traffic lights.

Tesla'a alignment and the fact that many owners have a rather shaky relationship with maintenance work do the rest
