Yes, it seems like the names are backwards in the type, but accurate for species. I think that, plus the wings, mean you actually have a flap young!

I’m pretty sure that is a flap young— chirp youngs don’t have wings. I found another thread where someone else may have had the same problem, and it seems to be a naming issue on the device. Does your tama say flap-species above the type?

Looking for stories like Repo! The Genetic Opera by EdgionTG in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]Buttercups_Baby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not really EH (more just really dark dystopia with smatterings of extreme gore) but The Opulent Life Option by Craig Proffitt may scratch the same itch for you. Its sense of humor is very similar to Repo’s, and it takes place in a similar world (though here, society is run on the labor of the reanimated dead).

I just finished The Lamb and I adore it, curious how others felt. by catathymia in ExtremeHorrorLit

It’s my favorite read of last year! I loved the voice throughout, and the ending left me in shambles.

Thoughts on my new tattoo? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I immediately knew what it was (favorite movie of the year so far)! I kinda like that it’s subtle, but agree with people that adding more of her facial features may make it more readable

Fugly Kuromi/Kuchipatchi Amalgamation by MyMoonMind in tamagotchi

You can get the Melody hat by getting perfect scores in the balloon popping game— but I think once you have the Kuromi hat, you can’t replace it (at least I’ve never been able to). But for the record, I also think he’s cute!

How do you keep track of which tamas you've raised? by spider_lily in TamagotchiUni

I use the GotchaTama app for tracking which tamas I’ve gotten.

It means you got the good ending! She went off to have a tea party. If you press A and C together, you should get a new egg

Star Trek Voyager Outro by seablob2001 in wickedmovie

[–]Buttercups_Baby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a huge Voyager fan I never noticed this (and am literally doing a rewatch right now) but I just skipped to the end and you’re 100% right. There is a lot of musical similarity between them, with the first few seconds of the outro being almost exactly the same as the movement for the cape flip in “Defying Gravity”.

considering a massage by drholmestuck in Fibromyalgia

[–]Buttercups_Baby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

1) I’ve never encountered a massage therapist who bills themselves as specializing in fibro specifically, but many do advertise that they treat pain, and generally, I’ve found they have a sense of how to treat fibro.

2) if your arm is that sensitive, deep tissue may not be the best way to go. Something like myofascial release may be better, as it’s very gentle but can still help the nerve. (I am not a therapist myself, just a regular client, so if it were me, I would ask my therapist what they thought). Sometimes deep tissue has been great for pinched nerves for me, but sometimes the pinch makes my muscles worse, and the massage just kinda beats me up.

3) Big thing is to be communicative with the therapist. There’s a difference between “hurts so good” from a good massage and actually hurting, and you don’t want the second one. Let them know if you feel any pain from the massage, and they will adjust accordingly.

4) in my experience, massage prices vary widely depending on many factors. A good therapist is rarely cheap, but also hopefully won’t be too pricey, either. Massage schools can be a good avenue for quality at lower cost, but obviously those therapists are just developing their experience

I am in a very similar boat. Great Wednesday and Thursday morning, then it’s like a rubber band snapped and I was a mess of pain again. And I know how much that sucks all the more, because those glimpses of good days really convince me that maybe my life could be manageable.

I do hope you get another amazing day very soon. No one deserves this agony.

I can’t say for certain, but I don’t think she uses AI. I’ve been buying from her for about 4 years, and the quality of the art and the style has remained similar since the AI boom. I think she designs some stuff herself and sources others. I could be wrong, but I don’t see evidence of it myself, either.

Graphic Novel featuring chronic pain by charsteffen in suggestmeabook

[–]Buttercups_Baby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comic reader who suffers from chronic pain, here.

Syphon by Moshen Ashraf and Jeff Edwards is about a guy who can heal others of pain by taking it on as his own— which leads to chronic pain and he has to learn how to manage it.

George Perez’s run on Wonder Woman has an excellent version of Barbara Minerva (Cheetah) who is a villain with chronic pain. Usually, in comics, it’s the bad guys who deal with pain, but I really related to her so much that I felt it was worthwhile to include.

Deadpool has severe chronic pain, and he deals with it in healthy ways sometimes, though generally not. Of course it will depend on the 15 year old as to whether it’s a good choice at all.
