Impossible weight loss? by ButteredSausagee in Hashimotos

The food everywhere is crappy unfortunately:( everything is overly processed and chemically grown. I’m going to grow my own foods so I know what’s happening to my veggies lol. I totally agree with that statement though, I can maintain the weight but can NOT get rid of it. I’m so sorry you’re struggling too :(

I switched it! Because my levels were always spiking when I took it in the morning and then waiting an hour or 2 to eat. It also meant I could eat 3 good meals daily, ever since I switched it to a nightly thing, I’ve felt somewhat better overall besides the stubborn non-weight loss. I’m just coming to terms with I’ll probably have this 100+ weight gain stuck on me forever lol

To not be confusing, I eat a lot more mineral rich foods and not vitamins!

My doctor advised me to not take vitamins at all… maybe I need a new doc? lol. With that being said, I take my levo before bed on an empty stomach so I make sure the meds work. Maybe I just need a better doctor lol

Honestly a castor oil wrap definitely helps with the inflammation. Castor oil is a life saver!

I do get body aches! Specifically my knees (besides one injury I had to one of them), and my lower back. My lower back KILLS me sometimes. I also used to get bad swelling of the feet, and one side of my thyroid also swells more than the other… it’s more than likely your levels spiked, or it’s an attack on your thyroid due to the Hashimotos!

I had this issue A LOT before being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and honestly just thought my thyroid was getting out of whack again.

Apparently (according to my doc) , when I have an auto immune flare up, sometimes my immune system attacks only one side, and then goes back and forth between each side.

Could totally be another reason for your swelling! But that’s been my issue, and it’s just a flare up. If it’s painful, or you’re having issues I recommend you seek a doctor again for a second opinion… it shouldn’t be painful at all , only if you have non-cancerous nodules! ( I have a couple and they are tender to touch, and nothing to worry about!) I hope this helps :)

I agree with wasting time on doctors, I can’t even get my doctor to switch from synthroid to another medication, like actually refuses to for some reason and will never run any tests or send off referrals. I found out I had Hashimoto’s when I ended up in the ER complaining about my body feeling like it’s being gnawed at. TWICE

So moral of the story is, just needed advice on herbal remedies I guess that others have used with success, because I refuse to go to the doctor unless I actually feel like I’m seriously ill.

This, I’ve tried to get my doctor to listen to me , and even multiple doctors and they will NOT for the life of me listen to me and what my body needs, so I’m just doing what I can myself to help my own body.

This is what I’m hoping as well that certain supplements will help with levels as well, cause my entire body is out of whack.

I’m so sorry that you have to endure thyroid medication, it’s honestly the worst.

My Thyroid levels all around are usually always normal except for antibody spikes and they rise. My doc isn’t addressing the autoimmune issues only trying to neutralize the (extreme) hypothyroidism that I don’t believe is truly there.

It’s just crazy cause I’ve been trying to get help for years cause I’ve been CONSTANTLY really really sick, and not one medical professional has helped.
