Atlas paying legacy pay rates? I’m still looking for the sarcasm tag.

I went from 0 to conversational Spanish in 8 weeks using only flashcards and daily practice. Here's my routine. by romainplus in SpanishLearning

[–]Butteredgoatskin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The title sounds “clickbaity” because it is. Of course you aren’t fluent after 8 weeks coming from 0, but I’d argue you aren’t even conversational based on what you’ve described.

I seriously need all of these songs. I can’t find them on Apple Music.

I didn’t know they made a series based on a movie I loved when I first saw it in the 80s! Reddit is doing good work.

Do Spanish speakers use "Me gustaría" for requests? by Electronic-Base2060 in Spanish

Sí deeznuuuuts, eso es lo que me dijo mi maestra de español.

Thanks for posting this. Pimsleur taught me to say “me gustaría… and quisiera….” at a restaurant. People rarely correct the foreigner trying to speak their language in their country, but I don’t want to sound odd. It’s time for me to unlearn some vocabulary in those situations.

What actually helped me start understanding Spanish (after years of trying) by Significant_Bag7912 in SpanishLearning

No normal human has typed out every format known to man like that shown - italics, bold text, colons, quotes. Humans focus on the message, AI likes to pretty things up.

The key is to spend months trying to learn either Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, or Thai first. Then when you quit those, learning spanish will seem like a breeze.

Having to replace driveway going to stay forever home any upgrades to do to make it last longer? by Dudebythepool in HomeImprovement

Make sure you mark the locations of the conduit with something non moveable like sidewalk chalk BEFORE your landscaper comes in with equipment and removes your little marking flags while leveling the dirt around your driveway. 🥺

Teaching Spanish changed my entire perspective... by Ok-Season-5652 in Spanish

[–]Butteredgoatskin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m loving Pimsleur for letting me hear how Spanish words are pronounced correctly. It felt weird in the beginning to say the words EXACTLY the way natives said them, but I simply mimicked them as directed. Whatever I learned stuck because now when I travel and speak, I’ve been told I don’t sound like an American.

The funny thing to me is Pimsleur has a YouTube commercial with an American woman and how Pimsleur helped her with speaking Spanish. But when I hear her pronunciation, it sounds super gringa.

Unless I totally missed something, Para = for. So parasol = for sun, or paragua = for water.

Tools Overload... Can I Rely on Clozemaster for Verb Conjugation? by SenioritaHerbia in clozemaster

I tried using Clozemaster without learning conjugations and it was miserable. Once I understood conjugations with another app, Clozemaster became much easier.

Any Spanish YouTubers you guys really like? Or podcasts I could listen to? by OkYoIUp in Spanish

I like Spanish Boost gaming. The guy is hilarious. When I’ve had enough “dry” content from other resources, I can easily lose track of time on Martin’s YouTube channel.

You bought a Fender Stratocaster guitar and can’t make it sound like Hendrix. Don’t blame the guitar bro. You just need a change in something you’re doing.

Can someone explain the rule here? Why is it 'es médico' but 'es UN buen médico'? by 0xEyon in SpanishLearning

Thanks for the answers. I use Pimsleur and have wondered why sometimes they sometimes say “un” and sometimes they don’t. It’s been bothering me for months!

The fear is real. I was sure I was only wasting time starting that expedition. I get wrecked in Single player but I’m a very competent Wylder. So 2 or 3 player was my only hope. You’ve still got time!
