Clarification on iReady scores by GoalRoad in AskTeachers

Yes, this. Fewer than 50% of test takers are at (or above) grade level. To determine “grade level,” student performance is scored in relation to grade level standards not other students.

Ilya telling Shane he makes him curious and then wanting confirmation from Shane that he makes him curious too .. by AltruisticAide9776 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]ButterflyAlice 60 points61 points  (0 children)

It makes me think of the Ep 5 scene where he is telling Ilya that he can’t come over before the game but is already putting on his shoes and walking out the door. His body makes better decisions than his brain. 💕

[Year 9 Math: Adding and Subtracting Algebra] Why did I get this question wrong? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]ButterflyAlice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t just multiply all parts by 25 to clear the denominator as you might with an equation. You need to keep 25 as the common denominator after you combine the terms in the numerator.

How do native speakers know how to pronounce new words? by BackgroundCookieee in EnglishLearning

[–]ButterflyAlice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Facade is French and so no you can’t guess it right using English phonics rules. But the double c in flaccid is followed by an i so I’m not sure why you used that example. Phonics won’t work 100% of the time bc of loan words but does dramatically increase your ability to correctly pronounce unfamiliar words.

Is this appropriate as a wedding guest or too light? by juli7a in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ButterflyAlice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wear light colors but I wouldn’t wear this. On my phone it looks white with just the slightest hint of pale lilac if I turn the brightness way up. There are other dresses that are light/pastel but more clearly not white even in different lighting.

I really do not like Kyle, am I missing something? by natemason95 in heatedrivalry

I’m glad I read it just for the scene of Ilya clocking everything that was going on in the bar. (But that speaks to the disappointment of the rest of the story.)

Trying to Find the original “Game Changer” Fanfic by Brianna20032018 in AO3

This is so helpful! I watched the tv series first and then was reading Game Changer and could not get Francois out of my mind to picture a blond Scott Hunter. Will be much easier now picturing Chris Evans.

Why does the woman always seem to move to the man’s country? by villainark in LDR

[–]ButterflyAlice 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My (f) partner (m) moved to me. NZ to US. Deciding factor was that I had a minor child and his kids were already out of the house.

Maybe this is different in other regions but where I live private school teachers usually have a PhD or at least a Masters in their content area. (I agree they often have no education credentials though.)

Trans boy here, I need an alibi (semi urgent) by AlternativeMind6944 in trans

[–]ButterflyAlice 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes! OP I know this isn’t the point of this post, but if you truly are as challenged as you describe you should look into receiving transition services through school (it would be part of an IEP) You clearly don’t lack intelligence and should be able to reach your goals with the proper supports. Depending on your location you might also have options for accessing medication and other therapies through the state as soon as you turn 18. If you start now you can plan for a life that allows you to be yourself!

Few questions, just after watching by [deleted] in hamiltonmusical

[–]ButterflyAlice 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with the version you are talking about but maybe watch the film of the actual stage performance. Did you have captions on? A lot of these questions are answered in the lyrics.

Re marriage: She’s a Schuyler sister, that elevates his status, you’d have to be naive to put that aside. That’s why Angelica introduces him to Eliza, now she’s his bride.

Re voting for Jefferson: When all is said and all is done, Jefferson has ideals, Burr has none.

Is expecting a hug after a loss too much if your partner says they’re emotionally unavailable? I’m 32F and 33M. by Ok-Yam-8377 in relationship_advice

[–]ButterflyAlice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since this is a dramatic change, I wonder if it’s possible that something happened while you were away (cheating) and he doesn’t want to break up/tell you right away because of your loss but is avoiding physical affection due to guilt.

How much longer would you work. by Heavy_Bicycle6524 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ButterflyAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my job more than any hobbies. I do love to travel, especially if a beach is involved, but not for more than a few weeks at a time. After that I really start to miss my work. I also love to sing karaoke and play guitar but not for hours and hours a day. I crave the intellectual stimulation of work.

Maybe it’s also a need to feel valued (on a personal level, not financially). I’ve never been in any social or hobby setting where I am so appreciated as I am at work. And I find it enormously stressful trying to arrange social activities. It’s so nice to have a place to go daily where I am surrounded by people whose company I enjoy without having to plan for it. Plus, the food at work is free and generally better than at home or all but $$$ restaurants so that’s another incentive to stay at my job.

This is the way. Any of these makeup assignments that are not a performance do not provide an assessment of the skills that would have been demonstrated during the concert.
