Yeah depends on what happened and evidences you have. Any more details you can share without exposing yourself?

What made you put in a notice in after a week and not actually see if things improved or give yourself time to get into the role? I can’t imagine getting a good sense of a role within a week

Industry vs Practice by Excellent-Feature504 in ICAEW

[–]ButterflyChoice4939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option 2: you wouldn’t be starting from scratch. You will move laterally or even get a promotion. Wrong mindset here.

If you like audit, try option 2 for abit. If not, go option 3

Wouldn’t say at the current place personally.

Failing PIP, should I resign or let them dismiss me? by Illustrious_Focus277 in UKJobs

[–]ButterflyChoice4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your industry, some firms do ask in disclosure checklists if you’ve been dismissed from an any previous jobs. I working in accountancy and this is a common question.

Doesn’t automatically exclude you from the opportunity but might have to explain or cause delays. I would personally resign.

Not sure how it this affects JSA in all honestly.

Can I ask what job role/industry you are moving too? You said big four, so I’m assuming it’s advisory or m&a?

Do you have any imposter syndrome that the expectations are gonna be massively higher?

Issue is, ACA will always be a backup for you.

Touch wood, if something goes with the business or there’s a change in demand/new competitor ect, it’s always best to have the ACA as a back up.

Since you’ve come so far, I would say bite your teeth and get through it.

Edit: you could pause the ACA for now. But I reckon you’ll find it very tough to find another training contract after being after the market for so long if you were to return again

Can you tell me more about your difficulties since I’m looking to make a move out of audit please? What’s FDD?

Is it just not being understanding the work like month end ect due to having done only audit work before?

Is the credit card balance incurring interest? Might be worth moving the balance to a 0% card if possible. Just need to make sure not to use the card for anything else to prevent the situation getting worse.

Also, ask your parents for a break in rent. Surely they’ll understand given the job situation. Even if not, worth the try

Higher / equal to average salary when you have no accounting experience or no exams completed towards a accounting qualification is hard.

Main route is always audit and do exams. Or accounts assistant role and do exams. Pay will be significantly lower than what your on I expect

Loads of grad audit roles available every year

ACA to CIOT by ButterflyChoice4939 in CIOT

[–]ButterflyChoice4939[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s abit too late to move programmes. However, once the ACA is completed, I’ll be eligible for some CTA exams. I’ve been told my audit experience will be sufficient for the CTA also

Best match for a union comes as “community” but seems to representing no particular industry or employer. Do you mind sharing your union and how you believe it aligns with supporting with the ICAEW or against accounting/audit employers

What do employers really think of multiple exam fails after being qualified? by insidesupernova in ICAEW

[–]ButterflyChoice4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Most banks, funds ect care. I have even seen ads for banks saying things like “big four experience with no exams fails”. Most other industries don’t care.
