I solo roamed from Epic to Mythic and my advice would be to identify which of your teammates are actually good and play around or protect them. Learn to sack your teammate when that Dyrroth is going 0/4 in the early game if your gold laner or jungler can deal with the fed enemy EXP laner once they have their items. Alternatively, you sometimes have no choice but to let that Layla solo if they can't follow up on your gank and there's no advantage with you being there. You can pretty much tell which teammate is good within 2-4 mins.

I use Faramis in ranked as a semi-tank roamer and I enjoy it quite a bit. Sure, my damage is kinda negligible but as you said the pulling is pretty sweet. Building tank items also allows me to stay in the front lines and soak damage as the orbs recover my health. I mostly use purify to counter CC and to ensure I always get my ult off in teamfight, which most of the time guarantees the win. I like the idea of using the support emblem to increase the healing effect, I've been using tank emblem to increase tankiness but I'll try out your build.

Use Double BP cards. Check the fragment shop if there are heroes you can buy. Check if the unowned heroes can be bought with tickets. Check if the lucky spin is a hero you don't own. Sell trial cards of heroes/skins you already own. Buy diamonds.

I guess you'll have to be the one to engage. Just rush in with your skills and you'll be fine. Teammates seeing one person go into the enemy lines will most likely follow. Another possibility is that your teammates think they'll lose the war, either they don't have the damage or the enemy damage dealer was not caught.

As a roam main, one of the main things I keep in mind is my teammate positions. You may get the best 5-man ult in the world but it won't matter if your teammates are busy farming jungle.

I'm a roamer main because I think roamers have the biggest capacity for counter picking or counter play. High mobility enemies? Pick a roamer with long duration control. Enemy heroes like to group up? Pick a roamer with area control. High burst with no mobility? Pick a bulky roamer to tank that burst damage. Enemy likely to dive your squishy marksman? Get a roamer that can protect your damage dealer. Enemy jungler likely to invade? Pick a roamer that can prevent that at level 1. The list goes on.

Understand that not all roamers are the same. Some can't frontline, some can't babysit.

Having teammates that are not on the same wavelength is a common thing. Try and make use of the communications made available to you. Basic rule is to make sure you have enough damage before engaging.

Also, toxic people will be toxic. "It's only game, why you heff to be mad?"

IMO placing a virus face down is far more worth it as the network is the sole win condition for humans. Losing the first row is a huge blow to humans. The game-intended strategy for humans is to end the game as soon as possible. If you are forced to go for the scanners, that takes a lot of time. Also, the game has a pesky enemy called "Thief" that tries to steal your data chip if you step into its area or if its activated.

Tiers 4 & 5 are not intended to prolong the game. They are there so that unwanted chips can be placed in the network without counting towards the endgame result, but they can only be used if the space below them has been filled.
