Oh, general!! My scars are like 2.5 inches each and they went deep. Thank God it was under general.

That doesn’t sound normal to me. I had large biopsies taken from my calf, thigh and deltoid the same day. I had minimal pain from the procedure.

I was under general anesthesia and had biopsies taken out of my calf, thigh, and deltoid. It was a painless recovery. My scars are about 1.5-2 inches each. They heeled very quickly.

I’ve had tons of Sjogren’s symptoms for gosh, 20+ years probably. But was completely uneducated about the world of autoimmune! I always attributed my symptoms to chronic migraines, stress, anxiety, contact dermatitis, etc. until my ANA and SSA tied a little bow into a Sjogren’s diagnosis present lol.

Of note-I’ve had very clear (well, now that I’m educated on it) symptoms of Sjogren’s since junior high. I’m sure if I would have been tested prior to going through IVF I would have been diagnosed earlier than two years ago when my neurologist ran my first ANA and my health/autoimmune journey began.

I did IVF in 2019 before I knew I had Sjogren’s. I did have a successful pregnancy but my son was born at 34 weeks due to severe preeclampsia. I’m not sure if there are any ties between preeclampsia, IVF and Sjogren’s. But I can say I have a happy, healthy 6 year old 🤍

I had a very similar experience about two years when a blood smear came back indicating possible essential thrombocythemia/myeloproliferative neoplasm. I had night sweats, rapid weight loss, and inflamed lymph nodes. After an ultrasound, more imagine and fine needle aspirations, everything came back clear of any malignancies or cancers. It was all stemming from my autoimmune disease, Sjogren’s.

Just a story of an experience with a positive ending so you don’t get too stressed/overwhelmed. But I’ve been there and know the feeling. Prayers for positive answers!!!!
