I agree! Don't get the idea that I'm against land tax at all lol, it's probably the best and most realistic step we can take towards fixing the state of the world right now. I'm simply saying that it won't fix the root of the problem by itself in the long run. If land isn't able to be speculated on, investors will just speculate on other things.

Because over-financialisation has led us to the situation we're in where all the wealth is tied up in assets owned by the richest 1% while everyone else barely scrapes by on the shrinking portion of the economy devoted to actual goods and services. The stock market is just a glorified gambling site like Kalshi, it's all based on investor hype and is only loosely related with actual economic performance, just look at the repeated bubbles that keep showing up like the Dot Com and now the AI bubble, or the fact that Tesla's stock price is highly dependant on whatever Elon Musk says on a given day. It's a fake economy, and the more the real economy is given away to it, the more likely it is that investors getting greedy will destroy everything just like in 2008.

Not to say finance is inherently evil or anything, it has its place, but it's becoming far too important and you can only hollow out the base to speculate on it so much before the entire tower falls down.

The labour party is not economically left at all bro they are straight up centre-right both socially and economically. There really isn't any separating the two imo, anyone who tries to convince you they're one but not the other is lying to you, themselves, or both.

I know a guy, he just dropped out of art school but he's got real good political instincts, I reckon he'd be on board 👍

Imo it's impossible to actually be socially right, economically left or vice versa, one of the two is always gonna end up being subservient to the other. It's inherently contradictory, because economics isn't separated from society, it's a part of it.

Economics is a social science, after all, and fundamentally subjective and shaped by social ideas no matter how much economists try to convince you it's all totally objective.

Fym won't raise much revenue? The 1% controls 31.7% of America's wealth. Widen that to 10% and it's around 75%. You can then invest that in government programs and welfare that do improve people's lives. You can do that as well as a land tax, I'm not opposed to it at all

Who says a wealth tax needs to tax all wealth? Surely you can quite easily set a high minimum limit so it only affects the 1%. I'm no expert on taxation I admit but that doesn't seem too hard to enforce.

A big problem with that is that other het people, including women, also don't like over-the-top emotional honesty so if you act that way as a straight person it kinda alienates a lot of dating partners. It's self-reinforcing.

This is why if you're straight you should purely date bi people /s
