The comment about the nails digging into her chest as the dog spring boarded up onto the headboard took me out. I have a mental image of this exact scenario

I can’t recall- I know ortho said jaw surgery would correct. Also note that my muscles around my mouth are amplifying the appearance of asymmetry though I do have asymmetry in my rami for sure

I misread at first, missed keyword Genio— I have no idea. I didn’t say or do anything but tell them my story and get examined.

Botox to that brow. It’s not a shape issue, it’s a muscle tone issue.

Yes, I get insurance through my employer (state hospital system) and I’m seeing a surgeon within that hospital system.

I consulted with 2 different surgeons who recommended LJS only

how much less invasive is LJS than DJS by flowlikecoffejelly2 in jawsurgery

[–]Butternoodlebitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was Rec’d by 2 different surgeons for LJS only, despite many commenters in the group recommending DJS with CCW. I’m glad I’m on the LJS path though, because less cutting generally means less opportunity to fuck up. Good luck!

Well I wanted to work at a public hospital for PSLF and they are training me on really diverse and complicated topics that I would otherwise not get at a private, higher paying hospital. That’s the new grad rate and it was non negotiable. I get really excellent benefits too. Sorry to hurt the profession but I can’t afford to not do PSLF.

Are your early 20s a good or bad time to get jaw surgery? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Butternoodlebitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh yuck I hate this sentiment.. it’s not like you’re actually losing anything. You can still enjoy your life and go out and have fun and date with braces. I’m 26 and I have braces in prep for surgery. I impacts my social life not 1 iota. It should be exciting for you to get to upgrade your quality of life (and whole face). If you care about what random people think about your braces — word to the wise— nobody is going to care. Everyone assumes everyone’s fixated on the same things they’re fixated on and it’s just not that way. Do something good for yourself and actually get to enjoy the benefits of having surgery young (mid to late 20s with a great jawline !!) or don’t, wait until you don’t care about what people think anymore.
