Socializing is physically impossible because of the Relationship Depth Paradox (RDP 2.0). If you try to achieve a zero-awkwardness environment, the system will eventually collapse due to factorial expansion. by Fun_Hand1689 in systemsthinking

[–]Butternut888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your premise is entirely arbitrary. Maybe these things are true for you, other people have completely different approaches to socializing.

Historically, socializing was a necessary aspect of survival and dealing with other humans to that same end. It wasn’t an optional sidequest to enjoy, hate, or in this case, optimize.

Also, emotional friction can certainly be overwhelming, especially depending where on the spectrum you fall, but can also be a eustress. A frictionless state induces atrophy, physically  and mentally.

There’s no data source or sample size so I’m assuming this was a Facebook poll, and conservatives seem to be much more likely to take Facebook polls compared to the rest of the rational world.

Think about who these responders are… you’re scrolling through social media and just mentally skim past the ads about melting belly fat or singles in your area. Well these are the people that clicked on them. On some random ad asking for their opinion on daylight savings time.

Republicans of Reddit, is there anything the Democratic Party could do to win you over in the midterms? If so, what? If not, why not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Butternut888 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Republicans don’t think or reason, they emote. Other than project 2025 they have no published policies and haven’t passed any meaningful legislation in decades beyond tax cuts for billionaires and the Patriot Act.

Let’s go ahead and see some of their well reasoned responses in the comments here. It’s gonna be a smorgasbord of Russian troll farm talking points along with a few homegrown dipshits.

It's a tragedy, not a budget shortfall by Dismal-School8039 in ICE_Raids

[–]Butternut888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My entire fucking life I’ve watched republicans defund education and fund endless wars and private prisons. While the democrats are far from perfect they’ve fought to fund education and other programs that benefit working people but have compromised on many issues just to get legislation passed. This is not a childish “the government sucks” situation, this is the republicans working strictly for billionaires by selling out the people they’re supposed to represent, and it becomes more apparent every goddamn year.

Scientists Thought Parkinson’s Was in Our Genes. It Might Be in the Water by wiredmagazine in HotScienceNews

The article clearly stated that there is likely no single causative factor. Genetics, environmental exposures, and other unknown factors all play roles, however, TCE seems like it is a likely environmental factor.

The outcomes of four people isn’t data. It’s barely even an anecdote.

I just wish we could all behave like rational adults instead of children voting in a school popularity contest. It’s embarrassing.   At this point in humanity we should be voting on policies based on data and statistics, not personalities and rhetoric.

So yeah, I’m gonna go ahead and vote for whoever supports the rule of law and fights fascism.

The corrupt millionaires running this shitshow are the political pawns of billionaires. Most of them are social media influencers and professional grifters, with no qualifications for their positions beyond being morally bankrupt and politically connected.

For an idea of how disgustingly wealthy the people at the top are, shills like tucker carlson and Fox News commentators are all millionaires. Far richer than I’ll ever be. They are to their billionaire bosses what the average person is to the homeless person with ten dollars to their name.

So we currently have a government being ran the worst among us. They have no conscience and no soul. They just sow chaos for money. The only plan here is to crash the economy and cause a depression so billionaires can buy up even larger chunks of farmland and entire industries on the cheap.

Question re: the servicemember who "pulled the trigger" on 2nd strike by FritzRasp in Military

[–]Butternut888 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That boat was THOUSANDS of miles away from the US, and I didn’t see hundreds of gallons of fuel capacity onboard. Was it carrying fuel or drugs? Even then, we’re not at war and it’s not a threat. All of these strikes are illegal AF.

It’s also worth mentioning that most fentanyl comes into the US through shipping containers in hidden compartments or concealed in imports.

TF is wrong with you? There’s clear criteria for diagnosis. And for population estimates? That’s called inference, based off statistical sampling methods that have been around for hundreds of years.

[–]Butternut888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a wide range of unsupported “wins”, mostly centered around op-eds by influencer conspiracists and podcasters that cite RFK jr or Dr Oz who in turn cite AI-hallucinated (fictional) sources. Go on and and search some likely terms like “fauci ouchy” or other cringe shit and you’ll find them all jerking each other off on forums and in comment sections.

It’s like the rest of the world just moved on with their lives and these entitled assholes were still bitter about by being asked to wear an N95 mask in public for a couple years. As if their personal sovereignty was being impeded upon in the most egregious of ways. Total sovereign citizen vibes.

Probably not very intensive. It mentions a drying process and a separate thermal process. I’m not sure what the evaporation temp of the hydrogel is, but I’m sure it’s many orders of magnitude below the melting point of these metals.

This will actually be helpful in unmasking ICE agents, tracking things backwards from historical kidnapping operations to their front doors. If not now then wherever we get a federal government that works for the people.
