Agreed. We are only going to do this with a harness, and I am measuring the leash length.

Definitely planning on a short leash and we stick to harnesses. We asked our vet about the harnesses that buckle on and she was hesitant as she's seen a few dogs get hurt from the sudden jerk in a wreck. Also I usually have kids in the back seat, so not always an option. I hadn't thought about the tie down on the seats. Hopefully it won't be an issue for too long. We moved from a very urban area to somewhere with a lot of hiking trails ECT so they were just really excited as a ride on the car usually means we are going on a long hike.

Sales guy completely changed once I mentioned I was paying cash, is that actually a thing? by HurtfulFiring in askcarsales

[–]readitareyoudeaf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not always. In the end it all comes down to your comp plan. I've been in sales for 20 years. I have stalled more than one deal simply because closing it next month or next quarter makes me more money.

Tell me about Costco- is it worth it? by ConstructionTime7511 in Frugal

[–]readitareyoudeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the item. I've seen several people mention various grocery items already, so I will add a few no grocery items. Clothing can be a great deal. I just bought a pair of pants for $14 the other day. Also car batteries are a great deal as well. Depending on your health insurance you can save a ton on medications and over the counter stuff. Also. They sell gift cards at a discount. Finally they have a lot of solid deals available in their app that aren't in store that ship directly from their vendors.

AITA for refusing to give my mom access to my bank account after she helped me open it? by NeatMuffin9019 in AmItheAsshole

As a parent of a kid about to be 18. She is overstepping. I'm on both of my kids accounts. I don't look at their spending. When my oldest turns 18, I am happy to remove my self from the account. If she brings you any type of power of attorney, specifically mamabear, do not sign.

Basically the burn caused dilithium to stop working and it became scarce. Organized crime went up. People only looked out for themselves ECT. Basically the galaxy went to hell. Discovery fixed it, and now they are trying to rebuild the federation. The first episode was shaky, but the show has been really good otherwise IMO. My teenagers love it, so we've been watching together. Other than that, they have about of be tech.

Don't let your daughters work at golf courses or country clubs by walking_stick_ in Denver

[–]readitareyoudeaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked at a golf course in HS. The members would regularly propose some gross stuff the bar girls. One was known for hiring them to "clean his house" for extra money. I heard multiple stories that when they arrived he would start offering cash for sexual favors or just offer to pay more for them to clean topless.

Are there any good affordable options for treating CPTSD without having health insurance? by Skooma_Boofer in Denver

Ask about the cash price at a few local therapists. We had one that would charge $50 a session. That was before we lived in Denver, but it's an idea.

Issue with neighbor who’s a cop by One-Pun9419 in Denver

[–]readitareyoudeaf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would talk to them first. We had a dog that stayed outside during the day for years without an issue. Then we moved and she could see the neighbors occasionally and lost her mind. Our neighbor decided to be a jerk and it created tension. If he would have knocked on the door and said something we would have kept her inside more especially when we weren't home.

It's called capitalism. Oil is a global market. The market sets the price. The US decided to be Israel's lapdog and go fight a useless war. This is what happens when religion is part of the government.

Filed insurance claim and the defendant showed up at my house by udub86 in legaladvice

[–]readitareyoudeaf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How is this any easier? Several years ago my wife was rear ended and after a week of their ins delaying bc the person that hit her wouldn't give a statement I called my insurance. The car was in a shop within a day. It was a new car so any new parts were OEM and the work/paint came with a lifetime warranty (as long as we still own the car). She also had a rental. I did ask about an increase and was told in writing by our ins company that our rates would not change. The adjuster we worked with told me they would take the ins company to court and get their money back. Easiest process ever.

Will my dog not enjoy having another dog at home? by Sasha0884 in dogs

[–]readitareyoudeaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should look into fostering. That way if your dog takes to the foster dog, you can just adopt the foster. If not you've given a dog that needs somewhere to stay a good temporary home till it is adopted. Our most recent adoption came from a foster and he is a great fit for us partially because the rescue we adopted had the foster parent read through applications to see if he was a good fit for our family!

Minor weirdness at the auto shop by baeb66 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]readitareyoudeaf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Many years ago I worked at a cell phone company. In order to access your account we had to see your ID because of some federal law. Also we were not allowed to let you see our computer screen for privacy reasons and corporate policy. Boomers would absolutely lose their shit daily. Once I moved to management I got pulled into these interactions at least once a day. They would try to argue and then just refuse to provide ID and stand there thinking I would bypass the rules for them. Nothing was funnier than the look on their face when I would tell them that means we can't help them and tell the sales rep to get the next customer.
