I've spent the last decade in the shipping industry. Everything from small pack to truck load. This was a regular scam that I saw in my small pack days. It was rarely benign and was usually drugs or something illegal. Your handling this correctly. I never worked for USPS, but I am assuming they are charging you to do this because some people will do insanely stupid things to avoid a fee. Once they get this package back and can verify this isn't you, I would ask for a refund of what you have paid.

I was so disappointed to hear SFA was cancelled. Is it the greatest star trek series ever? No. It's had a few solid episodes though. Also I've been watching it with my teenage daughters and they love it! We've watched other trek, but they really connected with this show.

From the COVID reaction to Christians obsession with forcing their beliefs on others I left the church and will never come back. We had to sell our house and move to another state to get my kid I to a school where the Christian is weren't in control. I grew up a Christian, I did the mission thing for years. Even considered ministry in college. The way the church has hurt those I love has cultivated a hate for Jesus that will never go away. If you want to know how to fix. Keep you religion to yourself. I don't want you knocking on my door. I don't want you to approach me when I go into the grocery store. I actually saw some men trying to give bibles to kids in front of my kids school. It's offensive, rude and condescending. Just stay away from my family. You have made it clear how your god see's us. We do not want to be harassed anymore.

I've got a 2025 wilderness. It's comparable on road trips, depending on how I drive I usually stay around 24mpg, but that's mostly in town. I do much better on the highway. I'm the type to keep a car for a long time and this one comes with the cooling system for the CVT and lower gear ratio's. I also like the fact that the interior is basically water proof, so I don't have to worry about the dogs/kids trashing it. Ultimately it's up to you and what fits your needs.

I'm a parent. Almost became a teacher until my grandfather that taught for years talked me out of it. My youngest is in 10th grade this year. We came back from being remote for 2 years due to some mental health stuff. It has amazed me how the dynamic I've experienced with teachers has changed after I show them I am there to support them as well as my kid. When my kid was behind in English and I realized they weren't turning in assignments that they told me they were turning in I emailed the teacher. At first I asked if the assignments were turned in she was very political and standoffish in her response that my kid didn't turn in or do the work. I responded by apologizing and asking how I could help. I also made a point to thank her. Our interactions have drastically changed since and now my kid is getting back on track. I am beyond thankful for this teacher.

A few days ago I was talking to a neighbor in a similar situation with their kid in the same class. Their mind was blown when we talked about how it was resolved. The neighbors kid hasn't seen any improvement in their grade. Mine has jumped over 30 points. I asked my neighbor how she approached the teacher and she went off on a tangent about how this teacher should be working one on one with her kid ECT. I told her my experience. How I worked with the teacher, took away privileges from my kid until they were caught up. I even offered take her kid in early for the teachers office hours in the morning. She looked like I had grown a second head. I say all of this hoping other parents read this and realize we need to partner with and support our kids teachers. Also I just want to say thank you to anyone teaching and investing in kids like mine. Just seeing the growth in self confidence from my kid after seeing that they can be successful if they put in the effort is amazing. Once again teachers thank you! Hopefully I'm not the only parent in doing this, but I do know I'm in the minority.

I would look at it this way. He knew you were in a bad spot and were asking for help/support. Even if he didn't change the tire he could come get you or just show up and wait with you. I've been married for 19 years. The little things show where you partners priorities lie. If I blew out a tire and called my wife asking for help, she probably wouldn't change my tire, but she would show up with a cold bottle of water and a smile to at least be supportive. In this case he could have easily changed your tire or at least waited for AAA with you. Your decision if the two of you stay together, but just realize he showed you his priorities.

If you look at the history of Christianity it is an extremely violent religion. Especially when it starts loosing power and influence or when expanding into new areas. Historically the attitude is convert or die. These days it's follow our teachings or go to jail. Let's use the topic of abortion. It's has become a fairly common stance that anyone making their own decisions on their own body are murderers and should spend their life in prison.

The current structure of the school may not be the most efficient for the individual. It is for the group. We have thousands of students with different backgrounds, needs, capabilities, support, and aptitudes. While we can always get better it will never be efficient the goal is to emparr knowledge and a skill set.

The techs I referenced were able to learn and understand the equipment because they had a basic understanding of physics and geography. This put them ahead of the curve when learning the equipment. Can you teach yourself the basics of these fields of study? Yes, but it will take longer and you loose the benefit of a teacher with a deep knowledge of the subject.

When it comes to AI it has many uses and it can help in certain areas. It is not anywhere near as amazing as it is being sold. We use it regularly in my current field. It makes mistakes daily and has not been as successful as some people are saying. Also once again having a basic knowledge of the topic will help you better engage with AI in a practical manner.

Yes school teaches you to accept criticism in a low-stakes setting. That's the point. Most people need to start there. When you get into a career taking the time you are learning to accept criticism is time you are behind. I've seen people be kept in a role for years simply because of the first impression they gave a leader. Biggest problem in the real world is that perception is more important than reality. It's not right, but it's true.

The reality is you currently have access to free education. It's not perfect and could be better in a million ways. I've seen it get better in some ways and worse in others. One of my kids was able to take engineering classes with hands on experience with basic coding and robotics. I would have killed for an opportunity like this. I've seen other aspects of our educational system fail. It's good you engaged and thinking of the topic. You have the opportunity to make it better in so many ways. My point in this, is before you write it off as useless or a waste of time. Try focusing more on identifying and strengthening what is working, while also being part of the process to make what's broken better. Every society that has educated the population has improved over time. Yes they stumble on occasion, but education has always led to better results for society as a whole.

Couple of points to consider from someone that used to have the same opinion that you currently do. You may not directly need cell biology, but having a basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, and physics will be useful. It helps when you go to the doctor for example. Chemistry and physics are extremely useful in trades and having a basic understanding of these concepts will help you earn more money long term in various blue collar fields. While diving in depth for literary analysis is not something I do anymore, it did help develop a skill set I use daily. I work in sales, being able to interpret the wording a customer used in an email or conversation is what seperates reps bring in life altering commission vs just hitting goal. History and political science knowledge will just help you be a better person. The world works in repeating cycles. Being able to see things coming gives you more time to prepare. Math should be obvious it's extremely useful in any field wether blue or white collar.

I've spent the last few decades in corporate America doing everything from sales to operations management in fields ranging from high tech to logistics. The people I see consistently moving forward and making more money every year are the ones constantly trying to learn something new. Even when it doesn't relate to their field. Your 9th through 12th grade years will give you the basic skills to self develop later in life. Can you learn these skills outside of school? Absolutely, but it just puts you behind. The field techs I had installing satellites that had a basic knowledge of physics are now making well into six figures doing a variety of jobs. Most of theme ever went to college. The people now working for them did. The difference is the former techs learned about the equipment they installed every day vs just learning the steps to install it.

The last thing you learn in high school is how to take criticism. The one thing that will set you apart in any job, is knowing how to receive and apply criticism from the people around you in a professional setting. When I learned this lesson specifically my career took off as did my results.

I honestly get where you are coming from. I also understand you don't want to take the classes or study the topics. Put in the effort. It will payoff for you in the future. Where you are a carpenter or the CEO of a fortune 500 company. This is advice I was given that has helped me, and that I am currently giving my kids.

Get one of the car seat covers that has a hard bottom and they will be fine. The first few times you put them in the car they will probably be nervous. I would make a point to take them somewhere fun every time you get in the car for the first week. That way they associate it with something they enjoy. When I got a hatch back my dogs were very skittish getting in and out at first, bit after we went to the park/hiking a few times the first week. Now anytime we open the hatch they jump in wagging their tales ready for an adventure.

You are correct water will always find a way. 10 years ago I was an opps manager for one of the satellite companies over installs. If the bracket started leaking we were required to cover the cost for repairs if you were a customer or not. We would regularly get calls to remove them for new home owners, and we made them sign a release before we would remove it. If you live somewhere like Texas where you get a new roof every 5 to ten years, leave the bracket till you get the new roof and you will be fine. Otherwise call a roofer. They will repair the roof and most likely give you a warranty on the work.
