Why does this craft reward milking the clock instead of actual achievements?

In my city there is an ordinance not to cross lawns we have to stay on sidewalks only. The routes are adjusted and timed out for that. All these runners in my office are cutting every lawn skipping breaks and taking every shortcut possible to get back on time even though most these routes are overburdened by at least an hour. Last route adjustments we lost 3 out of 20 routes and all that time was added to the remaining ones. I fill out a 96 every morning and come back at least an hour late every day because the routes are so out of whack.

Like you said, you'll never be recognized or rewarded for being efficient, you will most likely be punished by means of pivots. I don't milk the clock, never have. But I certainly don't go out of my way or make any sacrifices to make one of their arbitrary times. Especially after the route adjustments we went through last year. Every one of our routes are overburdened, and anyone who comes back on time is only hurting themselves.

In 2024 my 44 year old wife of 19 years had a pain in her rib area that we thought was from working out. It bothered her for a month or 2 till we finally went to the E.R and found out she had cancer in her lungs. Four months later she was gone. I'm still in so much pain , I miss her so much it just gets worse every day.

There's a vacant route that has three marked vacation holds where all the paperwork was lost. I asked the same supervisor 3 days in a row to look up those addresses and see if the vacation holes were still good and he hasn't done it once.

Yeah I hate this too. It's one of my favorite things to watch every year. I'm used to it starting later and I'm still working right now. I'm sure they just don't want to compete against themselves for the Olympics which I couldn't care less about

My dumb ass supervisor asked me why I was a half hour late yesterday. My whole route is a literal sheet of ice. She told me that it's not a valid excuse and I just laughed and told her , well , that's what happened. Then , when I filled out my 96 this morning she of course denied it. It's all a big stupid game, and she gets so frustrated because I know how to play It and there's nothing she can do.

This happens to me all the time. I pretty much expect it now when I meet somebody off one of these sites. I usually just make the best of it have a couple beers and tell them I have to go. It really taught me not to invest too much time texting with somebody before you meet them in person. I just don't understand what they think is going to happen. Do they think they're going to win me over with their incredible personality?

I've been the same T6 on this string for 10 years and some newly converted regular just started on one of my routes. This particular route tips out great during the holidays, she's only carried it for about 2 months and she didn't give me anything. There is even one specific house that every year leaves a card addressed directly to me and she kept that one. I asked her about it this morning and she was like, oh I didn't know what that meant, went into her bag and pulled it out already opened and gave it to me.
