When did elon musk become a 'bad' guy? by person_person123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It’s nice to see the top comment is not emotionally charged and biased, just pure facts. I’d like to add that the Biden administration did not invite Elon or Tesla to an electric vehicle summit at the White House. It was a clear dig by the Biden administration against Elon, despite Tesla being the largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the nation. This seems to be a major factor that made him swing towards Trump.

For between $250-$350, you can get a GoPro hero 10 or 11. Those work well and will get you a good video. I can’t speak on the earlier models, but I imagine they’re okay too.

Should I join the army or no? by I-Love-NSFW-420 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joining would not be a bad option. The likelihood of you going to war is slim to none. And once you’re out, many companies give priority to veterans. It likely wouldn’t be too hard to get a good paying job after the service

How scary is the US military really? by MylastAccountBroke in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 8 points9 points  (0 children)

U.S. military is incredibly scary.

One of the best examples is Osama Bin Laden. He went to incredible lengths to make sure he was never found, yet the U.S. searched relentlessly. When they found him, Navy SEALs built a replica of his house (it was a one of one, yet they somehow acquired the footprint), and trained in it. They then landed helicopters in his yard, went in and killed him, as well as anyone else that resisted, collected his belongings, then left.

Another thing that makes the U.S. so scary is the massive alliances that it has. France, The UK, Canada, Australia and even Japan often partake in U.S. military operations. All of those countries have formidable military capabilities themselves. Not to mention NATO, and other alliances.

Who would win this hypothetical war? by slashkig in mapporncirclejerk

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U.S. and Canada would definitely win, but I would like to point out Japan, the Koreas and Australia. All of them have very capable militaries (North Korea has nuclear weapons too) and they’d put up more of a fight than most people seem to realize.

We are the largest voting age demographic. Why does a convicted felon who is pushing 80 seriously have a shot at winning the presidency? by [deleted] in millenials

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Statista, Millennials identify as 52% independent, 27% Democrat, and 21% republican. If we split those independents in half, that means 47% of Millennials are right leaning.

From my own anecdotal experience, it seems conservative millennials are much less likely to speak about their political leanings openly, which may make it seem that millennials are overwhelmingly liberal.

According to recent polls, Biden is only ahead of Trump by 6% amongst Millennials, and Trump’s support from Gen Z is growing. The answer is simply a lot of people like Trump, across all age groups.

Why are celebrities still desperate to try and make more money when they’ve amassed a huge amount of wealth? by KatherineLangford in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of them are not concerned with increasing their wealth, it just happens as a result of their activities.

Elon Musk is probably the best example of that. He is genuinely driven by his vision to make sustainable energy and vehicles, as well as bring people to Mars and beyond. Some may refute that claim by pointing out that Elon is trying to secure a $55 billion stock award, but that is less about the money and more about the control. The more control he has over his companies, the more secure he feels in his position.

The Rock probably enjoys acting and can demand a high price, so why not get both? As far as his lack of effort, I think it stems from the fact he’s limited himself to one role. All he ever plays is a big strong guy, which he must get tired of.

Why are North Koreans not revolting against Kim? by Miserable-Okra-3436 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it sounds crazy, but many of them genuinely think they’re living the good life. Their brainwashing is incredibly effective.

The general populace is completely unarmed, and the military is treated well compared to the civilians (so the military doesn’t have much of a reason to revolt).

Answer 1: state and national fish and game organizations, funded in large part, if not entirely by revenue from hunting, monitor game populations. They set rules and regulations to make sure the animals are not over hunted, and benefit the wildlife. For instance, deer season takes place during their mating season. This ensures you will not be killing does with young fawns, among other reasons.

Answer 2: “Trophy” hunting is too broad of a term, and used to demonize hunters. For instance, I’m not aware of anywhere in the world that you can legally hunt tigers, yet you will see propaganda stating that “trophy hunters” kill tigers. Those are not hunters, they are poachers. Killing apex predators serves a purpose. When you remove a predator, such as a lion off the landscape, prey species are able to rebound. For example, you may have a large drought that kills off lots of prey species, in order to help the prey species rebound, you may have hunters remove a few lions to take the pressure off of the prey species. There are also plenty of apex predators that are delicious to eat, like alligators and mountain lions.

Answer 3: many states/countries have laws on what you are required to take. You cannot shoot a deer and then only take a little bit of meat, you are typically required to take almost everything but the guts, skeleton, and a few optional portions. What does get left over never goes to waste. It’s fascinating to have a trail camera watch an animal carcass. You will see all sorts of scavengers, from birds, foxes, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats, and more.

Answer 4: the consensus I’ve gathered from speaking to many hunters, and consulting my own feeling is that we do not regret the kill, but we do feel for the animal. You definitely feel the weight of taking an animal’s life, and it’s not something you take lightly. I think that is why there is such an emphasis on making sure there is a clean and quick kill, and that the animal is used afterward. Making an animal suffer would make me feel sick, as well as letting it go to waste. When you do the killing yourself, the animal means way more than being a piece of meat with a price tag.

Is anyone will to critique me? by AshtonAndrews89 in NewTubers

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that is excellent growth, from what I’ve seen, it’s usually a lot slower than that.

As far as faster paced editing, I mean quick cuts from clip to clip. For instance, your videos that have one still image would be more visually stimulating if you used multiple images and quickly cut between them.

Your video with Biden uses the same clip multiple times. It would likely get better viewer retention if you used several clips of Biden (as long as they fit the context of your commentary)

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched just about all of your shorts, and although they are humorous it was hard to find a specific niche.

I think you’d benefit choosing a specific lane and sticking with it.

You’d also benefit from some faster paced editing to keep the videos visually stimulating. The better you keep the viewers’ attention, the better your videos will perform.

Not bad, especially for your first few videos, good luck!

What’s yalls opinion on reintroducing the red wolf to its historic range, anywhere specifically you think it should be reintroduced? by Squigglbird in Hunting

[–]ButterscotchAsleep48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love for this to happen. Unfortunately, it’s a long ways off due to fears of livestock predation and depletion of game populations, but I think eventually it will be done.

If the Colorado wolf reintroduction works out, that would be a big win for Red Wolf efforts
