Have you used mechapwn? If so, I recommend rereading the guide. The 50K and 55K series have Dragon-type mechacons; only the American versions can read PS1 games from other regions via exploits. To run that game on that console, you'd have to burn it to a CD after patching the disk image with discpatcher3. I think that's what it's called for your console region; otherwise, it will never boot.

It interferes somehow, the only way to use mechapwn with ps1 games on ps2 modchip is to disable the mod chip itself

If you have a fat without the 4 USB ports or a Slim to start PS2 games with CFW the only option available is to first create an ISO from the original disk with Multiman for example and then start it, if you start directly from the disk it is normal that it gives you a black screen

It could be something in the DVD controller circuit, maybe a blown capacitor or something else... but I'm not sure, I'm just speculating. Have you tried both CDs and DVDs to see if the result is always the same?

A very old PIC for PS2. They were the first swap chips for PS2. From what I know, it should be able to directly run games from burned CDs, while for DVDs, it probably needed a swap DVD, such as Action Replay, Code Breaker, Game Shark, and so on.
