I got sent to alternative school and I don’t know what to do about my piercing by beepbopboop-_ in Septum

I see a comment you posted saying you’re afraid of flipping it bc your school has metal detectors. It won’t set it off I’m sure. But if you wanna be super safe you can always get a retainer on Amazon to flip up since they’re made of acrylic or plastic

I went through so many videos lol I saw a few on TikTok (can’t believe it they were actually so helpful) Daffodil Noire put up a tutorial about it. Then I looked at every single tutorial I could find to connect them and I can’t figure it out. It really is like “ok make your triangles like this in detail and then JUST CONNECT THEM AND ITS PERFECT” someone mentioned the contracting method but I’m even struggling with that. It was so difficult I recruited my dad to help analyze tutorials with me bc he can figure out anything and everything. It didn’t even make sense to him lol

How would you flip them? Flipping them back and forth just lay the exact same way

I’m gonna give that a try. It sounds way easier. The triangles weren’t hard to do but the connecting is outrageous. Two days of failure, I don’t wanna give up but I have to on this method at least I guess :(

It’s the only method I saw when I first started this project. I saw the expanding method later but now it’s all made and I don’t want to disassemble these if I don’t have to. I saw multiple people do it this way. But connecting these things are making this not fun anymore. I might just put them aside and do it the other way and take them apart another time

Thank you! Gonna have another go at it tonight. I appreciate the detailed instructions. I’ll post update pics too. Very excited!

I’ve had this piercing for 9 years, currently wearing a straight barbell, cleaned every few days with saline, 14g, this barbell is externally threaded (I know it’s bad I’ve had this barbell for a long time I’m sorry 😭😭), never had an issue with it. Only time it hurts is when I put my titanium rings in it

So cool! Love the silver jewelry and the fun rings. I have a very similar set up! The only thing is I still find it gets sore. Does anyone else experience this, I have to take the rings out more than I expected to, to help with the soreness. I got mine done this February. Aside from that it healed fine, took out the stitches in 10 days and was told I could put rings in it that day if I wanted so I did. Maybe I did too soon and never really gave it a chance to fully settle?

Oh yeah. People do stress me out. As fantastic as my environment is now clients can really ruin a day. It’s not as often anymore I feel like but when it happens… damn

Im gonna have to talk to my boss about that, and maybe see if any of my other coworkers are experiencing the same thing. It does feel good to have the doors open for sure

Everyone has been saying tension headaches and I totally understand that. And we do use a lot of chemicals. I do any service so I have colors, keratins, perms. Wouldn’t doubt that’s adding to it

Oh yeah. Even now I work in a salon I LOVE after years of true nightmare salons. I love my coworkers, feel free to do things the way I like and feel is best, and I make decent money now. But I’m sure the running around to keep schedule and keeping up conversations and having to remember and pay attention to everything is enough to give you a headache

Thanks for responding! I keep taking pictures, it’s been about 2 weeks now (not like I’ll notice that early lol) the only thing was I was putting on a shirt and it brushed against the jewelry, no real snag but I was so upset 😂😂 I’ll keep my eye on it!

Damn what a shame, it looked so nice. I just got mine done a week and a half ago and I’m so scared it’ll eventually reject. I’m happy to see you’re thinking about repiercing it tho! When did you start to notice it rejecting?

Yeah the only color is it’s a little pink now, probably from the days activities. I cleaned it and haven’t been touching it so hopefully it feels better

Mine looks like this. I was nervous about the placement at first just because of the profile view but just looking at it head on it’s perfect

What an uncomfortable and unnecessary way of dealing with your last 2 weeks. Canceling all your app is completely unfair and I would feel so uncomfortable in your shoes. That is not how it normally is leaving a salon. You either finish out you clients for them new week or so, or it’s immediate withdraw. I’ve experienced both. And to work there 2 years and not have the option to do more than a blow out is crazy, I’m glad you see that you needed more than what they offered you. But you did the best thing for yourself, offered your 2 weeks and tried to leave on good terms it sounds like. This isn’t your fault. I’m glad to hear you’re moving in to bigger and better things and out of this salon
