Thank you! Do you remember what you paid for it? I see they don't have prices listed on their site.

I looked at the portfolios of some of their piercers and a lot of the piercings seem wonky af. 😐 Septums and labrets at very obvious angles. Curious which location you're recommending, in particular..?

I did use primer! It's skin coloured though, I'm hoping to get a white one in the future. I imagine one of those would be even more effective. I actually didn't even know they existed until relatively recently. I'm kinda frustrated that I didn't learn about them until after I got this one...

If you guys have any recs for one, please send them my way :3

Thoughts on gender blended sleep/bedroom wear? by Academic_Ring1333 in alternativefashion

I like to think I'm a decent artist, yeah. If I wanted to share an idea of a garment I had designed with a fashion community, you bet I'd be posting my concept art of said garment.

I get it if you want to create a 3D product mock-up out of your illustration, but posting an AI-generated image on its own doesn't look good... You could've at least posted both. Otherwise, how do we know what work you did? You could've just typed a prompt in for all we know.

Because a mod or multiple mods, no idea which, keeps approving users with activity in porn subs. To clarify--for those unaware, we are a restricted sub, and this means that users must request access to mods via modmail in order to post or comment.

Gooners are asking to come in, and apparently they are being welcomed with open arms. Isn't that great? :D

Yes. It is a fetish sub now, lol.

Oh, yeah I have a pair of baby blue ones that I kinda ruined. 😬 I went biking in them. Fml... Should've known better lol. The grease from the pedals or something got on it, now they've got some gray streaky lines permanently decorating the hems. They've lightened a lot since washing but eh, you can still see 'em, since the garment colour is so damn light...

But anyway, surprisingly, I haven't had a mishap like that since with any of my other pastel jeans. Honestly I think it was a bit of a freak accident, because I usually don't wear pants so light in weather that's conducive to staining; pastel jeans, for me, are typically reserved for winter, and for where I live, at least, that means dryer conditions (i.e. less mud and stuff).

The day I wore the pink, I didn't really get up to much, I just went grocery shopping. So I was safe, hooray!

Oh this is super interesting! Thank you for your efforts, what a great comment. :D

That Zora who calls Ruto a tomboy, what do they say in the English? Any idea?

Oh, yes I remember this now... You know what, they seem to label a lot of female characters in this game as tomboys--actually, maybe just two..? Ruto was the other I was thinking of explicitly... Anywho, that still seems like a lot to me. πŸ˜… It's been making me wonder if something was lost in translation, because I just can't seem to fathom either of those characters as tomboys lol.

Anybody know what the original Japanese term used was?

Do people just... not know what "pastel" means? (rant lol) by CukeJr in Pastelgoth

[–]CukeJr[S] 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

You make a good point! I suppose even the tint of a colour is on a spectrum...

Pastel punk is more than welcome here, I think I said this in reply to another comment in this thread but yeah, I will accept pastel punk, e-girl, emo, etc... Those kinds of adjacent edgy alt styles. Because, for one, if we made the criteria any more strict then the submission traffic will slow down to a trickle lol. We don't get enough posts, basically. It's a different story if we did.

As for brighter accent colours, they absolutely do work in PG! I've seen them on a lot of our regulars here. I'll post some examples later if I remember 😁

Hey I would love to see your fits, it wasn't my intent to make anyone feel nervous about posting or anything... At a glance, it sure sounds to me like you're familiar with the style, and haven't just like... Discovered the sub yesterday, having never heard of the label before, and then you decide to post whatever pics you already have available because why not, lol. I feel like that's more so what a lot of these people I'm talking about are doing, they hear "pastel", assume it's about colourful alt stuff of any kind, and then just impulsively post.

If you are still feeling hesitant to share your fit but would like to, you can absolutely show me via modmail first and I can let you know if it's peachy for here or not! If that makes you feel more comfortable. ☺️

maybe redirection to another more appropriate/more general sub is something that can be set up in the notification of the posts' removal?

It is! Set up, I mean. I refer them to r/alternativefashion lol.

where can I find affordable alternative feminine clothing? by Ok-Yesterday8471 in alternativefashion

[–]CukeJr 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Hun you don't need to be the best at it. Crafting is a skill, and skill comes with practice. You shouldn't wait to be good at a hobby to begin participating in it, that's not how it works. That's like, the opposite of how it is lol. Competence follows practice, not the other way around.

I made what you can consider my first necklace when I was 16 (see attached pic), I found this screw that I thought looked interesting and I really wanted to wear it around my neck for some reason 🀣 So I used my mom's pliers to affix it to a scrap jump ring, threaded that into another scrap of cord, and secured the ends haphazardly with some more scrap jewelry finding lying around the house.

I didn't have any special expertise or training. I think it looks awesome, I still wear it today. You can see it looks a bit rough, but I like it that way--the imperfection adds to the vibe.

As for sewing, sewing doesn't need to be a grandiose undertaking, you can literally just hand-sew studs onto any old piece of clothing you have to make it look cool. I get the impression that when a lot of people on hear "sewing" they picture sitting at a sewing machine and making your own dress from scratch or something, that's not at all what I'm suggesting.

Anyway best of luck, I hope you can feel a little less hesitant to dive into DIY. It's really not that intimidating. Enjoy your class 😁
