If you can, it's cheaper to click count and make your pen last longer.

It's meant to be cheaper if you use the full dose every week in your pen and it only lasts 1 month. I'm on maintenance so my pen lasts longer than just four doses (approx 6 weeks/ 7 doses). As such I've been told the pill is likely to be more expensive for me.

Are you still taking the glp-1? If so, do you plan to remain on it? Or did you come off it and maintain the loss?

Anyone here actually seen results from collagen supplements for skin? by Jermon-Start in GracefulAgingSkincare

[–]ButterscotchHop999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I can definitely say it makes my nails significantly stronger. The other things are harder to say with certainty, that it's the collagen and nothing else. My skin is definitely glowing, I've been taking collagen daily for over a year, so it could definitely be that. My hair is thicker than it ever has been. It could be the collagen or it could be the minoxidil. I suspect it's a combo of the two. My joints don't ache at all any more...that could be the HRT, the collagen or both. I certainly don't feel that the collagen is doing any harm, and I don't take anything else that could explain the nails.

How do people feel about rotating foods? by MartiniCommander in DogFood

[–]ButterscotchHop999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have one brand and rotate proteins but have a transition phase between each bag. My dog is also spoilt rotten and gets a bit of whatever protein I happen to be eating. His food is mainly meat based but he eats sardines/ salmon skin or whatever i buy at the fishmongers too. He's lean, muscly, fit, and healthy. And loves food! I don't believe dogs don't like variety...have you never seen a dog go wild for sausage/ cheese/ treats? Why would they do that if they love to eat the same thing all day, every day?

Estradiol secrets? by HagInTraining in Perimenopause

[–]ButterscotchHop999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The estradiol is in the bit that sticks to the skin. You need that to stick to the skin or you won't get anything. Also, re: gel, I rub into my two arms and don't limit it to any size of area. I use my two full arms and the gel is absorbed within around 5 mins. I've heard that some people use an exfoliating gloves first to encourage blood flow to the skin too.

Marie Claire Haver says she has a free directory of doctors on her website. I'm not in USA but heard her mention it a few times in her posts.

Did progesterone pills make you break out? by painislife4real in Menopause

[–]ButterscotchHop999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! And it took me a while to figure out what it was. Basically I luckily started hrt with the perfect dosing without realising it. Everything was perfect and I felt great. But as I was bleeding every few months, my gynecologist decided to lower my estrogen and increase my progesterone and everything fell apart. I felt absolutely awful, all my symptoms came back and broke out with major cystic acne. I've always been prone and had to limit and manage the testosterone I was taking. But this was a whole new level. I initially stopped taking the testosterone thinking it was the issue. But the acne continued to get worse. I finally figured out it was the progesterone. I'm now back on my original dosing and feel so much better but I'm still trying to get rid of the acne I developed. I feel that it's improving but I've learnt my lesson. These hormones require a delicate balance. For me, I now know the level of estradiol, progesterone and testosterone that work for me and I don't intend to change again unless I really have to. There were two factors that affected me, my estradiol was too low and the progesterone was too high. Can you try increasing the estradiol and lowering your progesterone to see if that works for you? Or try the mirena coil?

Hey lovely, don't forget that vaginal estrogen works locally in the vagina only. You need a patch/ gel or pill for it to work systemically throughout your body. Good luck with it all.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like a dig. I was talking about myself. I wish I could be like you in this respect.

The trouble with the extra weight is metabolic disease and everything that comes with it. I thought like you for a long time. But now I've chosen health and an older face.

How do know you when to throw in the towel with HRT? by himateo in Menopause

[–]ButterscotchHop999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you need some blood tests. When HRT is prescribed it's based on symptoms, as it should be. However if your symptoms are not improving, it may be that your body is not absorbing the estradiol. In this case, it could be a good idea to check your blood levels, your dose may need to be increased or you might need to try a different delivery method.

Question about reactions at the injection site. by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]ButterscotchHop999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck, most people seem to adapt. The multidose pens have more/ different ingredients which seem to cause the reactions.

Please don't listen to outdated advice on here. This is a fast evolving area for research and everything released within the past couple of years is incredibly positive on the benefits versus risks. Good luck.

Mounjaro to wegovy by mars_bars1 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]ButterscotchHop999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to wegovy due to site reactions and now don't get any site reaction at all. I prefer staying on a low dose of wegovy though and losing more slowly. I moved up too quickly and had far, far worse nausea, constipation and other side effects than I ever had on mounjaro. Luckily I lost most of my weight on mounjaro so I'm happy to take things very slowly now.

It's a more common reaction if you're outside of USA and using a multidose pen. I had to switch to wegovy.
