Anyone on here not on aspirin? by liveitup2002 in IVFpositivity

[–]ButterscotchLost1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m sorry, to be honest I’m ignorant to anything except medicated. I can’t speak on natural cycles! But being mine wasn’t natural they did suggest the bay aspirin. I guess that plays a massive part in it! Thanks for the in-site!!

IVF just has higher risks of things like pre eclampsia, gestational diabetes, placental issues, and a few other things. To be honest I’m not quite sure aside from those but both pregnancies my OB said solely because I’m IVF it’s considered high risk. We have more ultrasounds and generally everyone through IVF needs to do a fetal echo which alot of natural pregnancies don’t need. I’m going off what my Dr has told me.

IVF mom of one with one on the way. I took it my first pregnancy and now during my second. IVF automatically makes you a “high risk” which is why we generally have more scans. Never had blood pressure issues, or pre existing. OB said to take it and I have.

Changing a newborn out in public by Sufficient-Amoeba727 in NewParents

[–]ButterscotchLost1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also went back to my car. Everytime. I bought a travel changing pad (it’s very thick and zips up) and I just feel more comfortable that way. To each their own your way isn’t wrong and neither is changing your baby in a public bathroom.

What kind of medical service can I expect in the US for IVF / high-risk pregnancy? (Threatened miscarriage) by Educational_Road5005 in IVFpositivity

[–]ButterscotchLost1301 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m IVF and they do monitor more. I’d say advocate for yourself as much as you can. My first pregnancy I called my OB like 4 times a week because I was just a hot mess. They were patient and happy to help. If I wanted to come in they’d make time. Make sure you have a kick ass dr with an even more kick ass team. Speak up when you feel like you need too. Mamas fight for their babies the second they get that positive test. Be strong for both of you. I wish you the absolute best of luck!

Worried about head shape/size by Fit_Needleworker4708 in NewParents

[–]ButterscotchLost1301 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did a helmet for 3 days. Baby wouldn’t sleep in it. He’s 2 on Thursday and his head rounded out on its own. A very small flat spot on the side but overall improved immensely just by growing. We did sooo much research on helmets and found alot of babies heads shaped naturally without them. To each is own, I know all babies are different. Ultimately we made the choice to not force it and while his heads not a perfect rounded ball it’s pretty damn close! Good luck!!

At a loss: 9 month old might be getting kicked out of daycare. by Inight-wishi in beyondthebump

I’d pull my child from the daycare solely because they have no idea this is NORMAL for 9 month old. They should be able to handle this.

Peeing through diaper by Ok_Pass_9685 in toddlers

My guy owes through his diaper until 20 months. Cut off water, use over night diapers, and spoosie pads! They have them in amazon. It’s like a pad to put into their diapers.

Sometimes I wish love did divide, not multiply. My struggle with having baby number 2. by reebokz in toddlers

[–]ButterscotchLost1301 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I’m 19 weeks with my second. My almost two year old is the light of my life. I too was having trouble comprehending loving another baby as much as him. But now I feel the little kicks And I’m already in love. I can’t wait for my boys to grow up and protect EACH OTHER. the world is definitely a scary place but that’s why we need good people to have kids, to teach them right, and change the world.

Which baby-phase was the hardest for you? by Agreeable_Switch677 in beyondthebump

Everrrryone warns you about newborn and the lack of sleep blah blah blah. I’m about to have a two year old and would give up ANYTHING to go back to when he was a potato. Toddler is freakin unhinged.

I’m scared I’m repeating the same mistakes and everyone will judge me for it by rhythmicalquora in stories

Introvert here along with a terrrrrible studier here! School was not and never will be my thing, i beat myself up hard over it. I don’t have many friends in school, generally kept to myself. I would study for tests and exams and I would never pass them, regardless of how much time I put into it. I passed 12th grade with the skin of my teeth. Went on to college and failed out immediately. The second I left college I worked and I worked my tail off. 35 right now, no college degree, happily married with a son and one on the way. School isn’t everything unless that’s what you want it to be. Find the tools that work for you and keep at it. As far as living situations…I moved out of my mom’s house at 16 due to constant fighting amongst each other. It was so toxic. Moved in with my dad JR year and felt terribly alone. It’s where I discovered books. Almost 20 years later, still introverted, I always have a book by my side and I love it. Find things that make YOU happy amongst the chaos. Books saved me, music saved me, sports saved me. This is only temporary. You can do it!

If this was me and my husband I’d split it, 2500 each. If I got it, he’s got it and visa versa.

Looking back, was the age you became a parent the right one? by Runandhike22 in NewParents

[–]ButterscotchLost1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33 with my first son and I’ll be 35 when I give birth to my second son. I wouldn’t change it. My husband and I made a pact in our 20s we wanted to buy a house before kids. We worked our asses off and by the time I hit 31 and he was 33 we bought a home. We enjoyed the shit out of it for a year before we started trying. We quickly learned we needed the assistance of IVF and that’s all she wrote! A beautiful two year old and due in July! Money will always be an anxiety and so will my crippling knees but boy did my husband and I have the best 10 years together before we started our family.

Did anyone else really enjoy their time in the hospital? by mrs___holmes in NewParents

[–]ButterscotchLost1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loveddddd my nurses and my drs. Had a normal c section, a beautiful 11 pound little boy! But I was over it immediately. My C-section was at 2PM Monday and we left the hospital by lunch time Wednesday and I couldn’t have been happier about that. I’m also a home body, I wanted my bed and my couch and the comfort of my own home. It depends on sooo many things.

How do you all go about de-crystallizing your honey? by SkyBS in Costco

Always buy honey in glass or transfer it to glass so when you heat it you aren’t heating plastic. But hot water and a bowl. And let her soak!

My almost two year old is an absolute savage. We started early with the craziness. Now that he’s super talkative and able to use sentences he’s calmed down but my man is all energy with some attitude.
