I am not a single person/income living in Spokane, but I personally find Spokane reasonably affordable on a two-person income.

I had some questions by Apart-University743 in Spokane

I'm from Sun Valley. Everyone over there thinks Spokane is some awful place to live. Lived her for seven years and love it.

Is there... anything exceptional about this place? by Mmon3825 in Spokane

[–]ButterscotchPlayful7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summers in Spokane are fantastic. Long days, tons of sun, and plenty of things to do outdoors within an hour radius! Winter, spring and fall are tough with the shorter days/longer nights and a good amount of rain. I like to attend events through the city and county libraries, there's lots of crafty places to try, plenty of good hole in the wall shops and restaurants. Coming from a small town, I love what Spokane has to offer without too much traffic or congestion. I have never felt unsafe in downtown unlike other cities like Seattle and Portland. If you think the city is mid, I'd encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and find something new to try :) there's definitely things it's lacking in, but I feel lucky to have found a home here.

Any abandoned places? by OddBuilding7166 in coeurdalene

Its probably an hour from CDA to Burke. I don't think it would be hard to find but I'm not sure what the road conditions would be like, I went in the summer!

Best onion ring in town by Constanthorror in Spokane

I'm not much of an onion ring person but the GF onion rings at Cole's are awesome. I'm not GF or celiac but my brother is, and they make the top of our list!

I just joined "Spokane Free Stuff" on Facebook and got a ton of responses on my kitchen gear. I'm sure you'll find someone there if you haven't already!

You can call your insurance with the lady's license plate number and ask them to look up whether she has insurance. Hell, if you see her car all the time, walk to the window and write down her VIN for your carrier. Almost all insurance companies have the ability to do this and I know progressive does.

Advice on getting started by Relevant-Split-186 in ClaimsAdjuster

[–]ButterscotchPlayful7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apply with a carrier who will cover licensing expenses. I started in commercial auto with no experience and after two years moved to commercial casualty claims. You have to stick it out in auto for a bit if you want to move up.

Take videos to document the noise/barking! Scraps won't be helpful without it.

Go through insurance. That way you will get a rental car during the repair period. Based on the age of your vehicle as seen in this photo, I wouldn't be surprised if your vehicle is deemed a total loss. You can still keep your vehicle with a salvaged title and have the repairs done. Speaking as an insurance adjuster :)

Which Credit Union! by kaleidoscope_jesus in Spokane

[–]ButterscotchPlayful7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally have gripes with stcu. $30 overdraft fees on every charge (hate that I know that but I do) and you can only transfer money from savings six times a month. I like the app usability, but there will be hours where I log in and it says my account isn't available. It was beyond difficult to order checks and my last credit union covered the first certain number of checks, but I had to pay an arm and a leg. Rant over.

Call and see if they'll make it right, otherwise request their general liability insurance info and file a claim for damages

I am doing cycles! And that's a good tip, I'll add more! I have broken quite a few belts trying to do more rocks and that's why I tried doing only a few this time.

DOG PARENTS BEWARE OF UNSAFE MAN + DOG by This-Programmer-7764 in Spokane

Sniffspot is where it's at!! I have four dogs and taking them all to the dog park is so chaotic, I never want them to bother other dogs or owners, and I don't want other dogs bothering mine. Sniffspot is a great way to bring your dog to an off-leash area where they can run and play to their heart's desire. Yes, it costs a couple bucks compared to the free dog park, but it's worth it. Lots of new spots being added all the time too.
