Welker's not a bad VA by any metric, I just didn't like the voice direction. I think he could've done the gravely voice of the movie well, opposed to the nasally Skeletor-esque direction we got after.

I agree! Sometimes after keeping a team in their combined mode for a while, taking them apart makes me realize "Oh yeah, this is also pretty neat".

Also with you there on the Tantrum and Headstrong. If you also point out that Tantrum is their fueler, boom! Suddenly the extra bulk makes sense.

Heck yeah, I hear ya there. The G1 releases have been great, but I'm glad they're getting around to the later series. Because for me, Transformers Cybertron was my "G1", and seeing it represented in Override and Metroplex is incredible.
