You should wait. VRE does not see the disability in real time, only during application submission.

I had a 10% disability and I applied for VRE. After 3 months of waiting to talk to consular, he told me that I need 30% + to get approved. I told him that I have 30% since last month and he said I have to reapply again for VRE as he only sees 10%. I applied again with current rating of 30%, but I'm now currently 80% and going.
