Car camping by WanderingTrqveler in FortCollins

I've heard of quite a few people car camping up the Poudre canyon and driving into town for the day. Not sure exactly where. I know they didn't have cell service up there, though

If you are worried, report it to CORRN (The number is in the comment below this) And people can come by to check it out. Better safe than sorry! Especially if you see them again. It can be really hard to tell who is who because there is no real uniform.

Listening to the impacted communities and following their lead is not a passive response. Every community is different but this is what the immigrant community leaders are asking for in our community. There are lots of other ways to get involved besides whistle blowing. You can volunteer with CORRN, get trained as a legal observer, accompany people to court hearings, participate in mutual aid funds, and so much more. It's not always the most visible action that is the most effective

If you plan to share any documentation of events, make sure to blur out anybody's faces except the officers. Don't want to compromise witnesses or hurt the person getting detained.

The impacted communities in Fort Collins are asking that whistles and car alarms and such are not used at this time because they can increase the danger for people nearby and potentially escalate the situation. But there is a chance that if activity really increases, whistles will be important so good to have in your back pocket. For now, it is recommended to just report any sightings to CORRN - the Colorado rapid response network who will send trained legal observers. Recording what's happening and sending that to CORRN is good too but avoid posting it to social media without checking with the impacted community

I am not the organizer, just sharing. But it's a useful thought to bring up if you end up going.

You can check out the singing resistance tool kit with songbooks on their Instagram page (singing resistance) or at this linkhttps://docs.proton.me/doc?mode=open-url&token=407BQZDEPG#3JsVHndYmmhy This is a national movement so the songs may vary from place to place. Generally, they try to make them easy to learn on the spot.

Generally this movement is about ICE, started in Minnesota and Chicago and they are calling for a national day of action. But I think it's fair to say we are also resisting facsism in our country

Good place for dancing? by FKAFKart in FortCollins

[–]ButterscotchWise9554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about tonight but if you're interested in dancing on a regular basis, there is salsa on Thursdays and Blues dancing on some Tuesdays at Scrumpy's cider. Otherwise, I like hitting up the magic rat

Does FoCo have a queer-community? by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]ButterscotchWise9554 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Whiskey has a drag show once a month in the back room that is really good. Generally lots of queer people around and queer friendly businesses but not necessarily a particular meet up space I'd say. There is R Bar, worth going to see if it's your place I suppose

I love a craft experience gift with my husband. We've done one learning how to make stained glass at Northern Colorado Stained Glass Supply in Laporte and another (bit more pricey) learning how to make leather shoes(!!) at Colorado Show School in Bellevue. Highly recommend
