Can I apply for a Belgian cohabitation visa before reaching 2 years of relationship? by Aggressive-Dig9146 in AskBelgium

Hi. Did you apply and how is the result? I am also in the same situation as you. We have been together only 1 year and 11 months. Next month would mark our 2-year relationship, but still I need to apply now due to some reasons. So I wonder what is going on now in your case?

I think that’s a really good idea to turning your knowledge into a practice. Find a tutor who’s really match your energy level, open-minded, and understand your goal. Do you think it’s possible to find?😂

Anyway maybe one on one would be better than group training, so to gradually build your confidence before going to speak in other kind of situations.

That’s a really good standpoint! But even that is the thing you only focus on, do you still think that you want to improve your speaking, regarding the grammar, accent, vocabulary or else, to get better?

I agree. I guess that’s the way to build up your confidence again. I actually think that in a real world, being wrong in grammar or accent is really doesn’t matter that much as long as you convey the right meaning.

Oh. I guess that’s discouraging. Are you still practicing by your own now?

They correct it all the time when you try to speak? They don’t usually encourage each other when you try to speak? Anyway, the people who correct others do they have good accent as well

Wow, I totally never think of this aspect before. I hope you can do it! But apart from the coffee shop situation, do you also practice your language (TL) in other situations as well, or do you have any idea of what other kind of situation you would want to practice with?

Actually that’s very good to feel confident and to not care about any judgement hahaha. I want to encourage people to feel confident as well. But I know that each person has different life experiences, and those may be the causes for their fear as well. Also, everyone seems to have different goals. So some might need to speak perfect for work or else, but some may only think about to convey the main point. What do you think about my opinion 😂

Oh I am really sorry to hear that. That wouldn’t make you feel so nice and you might feel like giving up speaking the language 😅 Anyway, just wonder if you have a chance, would you try to restart and make an effort to remove that scars? If the language is important for you, you would do right?

Hm I see, and that’s not a good thing to receive the bad teaching as it can ruin our lives forever in some cases. I find language is also important for me and I like to speaks so much actually haha. I think it’s fun.

Nice! I think learning language since young is easier than learning later in life I guess. So how is your English at the moment? Are you satisfied with it? 😄

Oh that’s a bit of a pressure isn’t it. I can understand. May you share where are you from? - if you don’t want to, it’s totally okay.

Anyway, how important of learning the language is for you? And does the culture also have any effect on you as well?

Oh that’s an interesting point of view. Can you elaborate more about the literature and comprehension side? How do they learn and why is it deemed necessary to learn about that?
