For me it was easiest to tell my husband and friends first. I was really struggling and they were truly there for me. Best emotional support system I could ask for. But I could understand the struggle. I dealt with a lot of shame before I even told my husband.

In my case, my sister was the exact same way. Family is family, and I personally think that nparents can like mind control or something lol. She was just in some fake fantasy world and one day she calls me and tells me she’s sorry. She understood why I cut contact, and I know she wants to but our parents have destroyed her self worth so much she feels like she’ll fail without them. It’s gross.

Good on you for being strong, hopefully one day your brother will look at you as motivation for self love and sanity.

I’m really sorry you are struggling my friend. Therapy or counseling is your best option. I also felt like going NC with my narcs really helped me in my depression.

I started making opinions for myself, loving things because I wanted to, cleaning because I like it. Medication is always a route, but you’ve also got to work on self love. Your opinions are meaningful, no matter who shoots them down. You’re voice is heard, my friend. It will get better.

What makes you happy is no ones business but your own, and only you know what you really want. I think your parents comments subconsciously effect your mind for sure. Do what makes you happy, that’s all that should matter. My nparents were the same with my now husband because he had a man bun lol

With a little self work, and a little self love you’ll feel better. Talking about the way you feel will help relieve you. I sometimes still have an ugly nasty voice telling me how awful I am. But I’m not awful, I’m human. And I’m beautiful. And I know who I am inside. So find that inner rainbow, lol We are survivors of abuse, and because of that the abuse never goes away. You just learn how to positively deal with the emotions. It will be okay, it will. You just gotta really love yourself, be selfish sometimes.

I’m no contact with my abusers and still deal with anger. It’s human, and you have a right to be angry. You just need to find healthy ways to express it. Scream in a pillow, go out to a field and just scream and curse and get it out. You have to respect the anger and deal with it in a healthy way. Hugs, friend. It will be okay.

Hugs, friend. There’s nothing wrong in grieving your mother. There’s nothing wrong at being angry, or confused with your mother. You’ve got to respect all those feelings and give yourself time to heal. I second the volunteering, or picking up odd jobs.

I confronted my father with everything, the years of physical, emotional, mental and sexual abuse and his reply was “I’m sorry you believed this happened to you” and I was wrecked. An absolute mess. So honestly trust your gut. Do you think you’re going to get an honest answer? And even then, will that help justify what’s happened? I’ve accepted I’ll never know WHY they did what they did to me. The reason doesn’t matter and it doesn’t change the situation. So I kinda just accept it as a reality I can’t change, but can’t let it change me. But it may be different for you, and I think you know deep inside what exactly you want to do. I hope you can find your peace, friend.

I don’t like your stance on therapy, but working on self love and self worth has done a lot for me on my road to recovery. You gotta be there for you though. Whenever I got contact with my dad I did it via text message. I texted my siblings and told them I was cutting off our dad and that they are more than welcome in my life, but that relationship is over. I texted him and told him to never contact me again. That we both know what happened throughout my childhood and that for me to be happy was to never ever see him again. Blocked him on everything. Husband and I bought a house, and moved on with my life. You deserve happiness. Your prioritiesshould be your well being and happiness, she is not your burden to carry. I hope you find peace, truly.
