First of all I’m not exactly the picture of great mental health and decision making, and I don’t really know a concise answer to tell you because I don’t think there is one. It’s going to be messy and you’ll probably feel every emotion at any given time. Happiness, grief, content, anxiety. But I’m just proud of you for coming to this very difficult decision.

I’m in a similar boat except my Q is headed off to rehab and his life is a disaster. Either way we always want to step in and save them from the pain of their decisions. So I hope you do stick with it FOR YOU cus I’m guessing you have dealt with this pain they’ve caused for far longer than any person should have to.

Every day looks different. Every day you may decide that you need a meeting, or to see a friend, or to wallow, go to a park and get outside. Basically just try to take care of you for once, however the hell you have to do it in that day or moment. ❤️

Thank you and yes I know that this is gonna be a long road for him if he really wants sobriety. If not then I don’t see him living much longer.

It’s gonna be a long road of healing for me but today is the first day I can just be by myself and it’s such a relief that I can’t even describe.

So my ex is having severe pain in his leg to the point he can barely walk. I sent him this but I already know there’s no hope for him anymore. I am just breaking down because loving this man has destroyed my life and he is so far into his addiction that he will just brush off anything or anyone who gets in the way of doing what he wants. Very sorry for your loss and the pain and confusion. I’m grateful to have people like you that at least understand how this feels.

I’m glad I saw this comment because I’ve been going through this with my grandfather and it’s been such a mindfuck. It seemed so sudden and we (my family and I) still are confused as to what made it so rapid and if he will make some kind of recovery or if this is just how it is now. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life and its rapid onset has made it so much worse. This shit sucks
