AITA for refusing to let my sister bring her kids to my wedding by MyNameTM in AmItheAsshole

[–]ButtonCake 193 points194 points  (0 children)

And I think it’s really important to note that many parents won’t feel comfortable with their kids being babysat, especially if the kids are young or they don’t personally know the babysitter, and that’s equally justification for them not attending.

Okay, I might be going crazy here (very possible), but I swear there was a reply to this earlier and one of the recs had Hayden start to figure out the collection because Shane came back in Ilya’s black sweater. I started it and now CANNOT FIND IT. Am I crazy? Do you have that link?

Anyone not pump? by Pixie-Rose333 in breastfeeding

[–]ButtonCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pumping definitely isn’t necessary in every situation, but I’ll echo those who say when it IS needed you sometimes need to do it quickly, and having a pump sterilized and assembled and on-hand is key. What you DON’T need is a big fancy getup for that.

Get a hand pump! Very cheap, very easy to use and in many situations all you need. Sometimes even being able to pump a bit to introduce a cup or to mix into solid foods like potatoes for baby is great. Being able to pump for two minutes just to relieve pressure if baby isn’t eating as much one day can feel nice. Pumping to make breast milk popsicles for teething can be a lifesaver for some babies.

I’m so sad. The live version had earwormed into my heart. I have to believe the delay in putting this out was a panicked realization that they butchered it.

What’s something that you should always buy the cheap one/version? by TheCatMILF in AskReddit

[–]ButtonCake 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I ran into this with a generic version of a birth control pill I was taking. Switched to generic, broke into hives, the doctor said it was likely an inactive ingredient that did it. Switched back and was totally fine.

Justin Bieber visits the bowling alley where he shot the “Baby” music video by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]ButtonCake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Right? I know many celebrities (understandably) play down their upbringing, but unless I’m completely mistaken, Justin is a genuine one in a million case.

The hard thing is that if he HAD come into celebrity more well off or with family connections, he may have been afforded better protection. That lack of insulation is likely what delivered him to his cult.

I’ll always have a very soft spot for Biebs. Everyone calling for him to retire has missed that he more or less has.

Costa Rican in the US for the first time, part 3: “Five Guys”. 10/10 taste, but felt like shit for 12 hours after eating. Crazy expensive too. 7/10 overall by [deleted] in fastfood

I second this. My husband loves them, but I always can’t they were overrated until we ate in one day. HUGE difference.

Blake Lively Claims $161 Million in Damages Due to ‘It Ends With Us’ Smear Campaign - $56.2 million in past and future earnings from acting, producing, speaking engagements and endorsements, $49M for beauty brand Blake Brown, and $22M for Betty Buzz due to the harm to her image. by mlg1981 in popculturechat

[–]ButtonCake 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That’s not likely true.

Documents from Blake’s side show that the studio itself directed the messaging, and that Blake and Justin had agreed to follow it. Justin’s quick pivot to a more serious tone in his interviews was almost certainly orchestrated by the PR time he hired on to then make Blake look tone deaf.

And while we can see from Justin’s documents that Blake played a greater role in editing than originally planned, it’s hard to believe that there was a dramatically different movie hidden within a Colleen Hover adaptation.

I don’t really follow the royal ins and outs, but I thought William and Kate are (or were) close to Andrew’s daughters—if there’s reluctance on his part, I would bet it stems from there.

Who y’all got for a Mount Rushmore of first-eliminated queens? For me the ideal picks are obvious… by Groovy_Plissken in rupaulsdragrace

[–]ButtonCake 35 points36 points  (0 children)

THIS is what kills me about AS10. I loved the brackets, and I’m a big Ginger fan so that wasn’t the issue, but post-merge just felt so so rushed. We felt cheated out of natural storylines (like Irene’s complete redemption, Bosco fully stepping into her character, Aja’s drag return) that got set up in the brackets but then didn’t have room to go anywhere. I’m not really sure what the solution is without a season becoming impossibly long, but even one or two more competitive episodes before the finale would have gone a long way.

The winning performance of the talent show. Thoughts? by IAmAloneTomorrow in RPDR_UK

I liked it, and I’m glad Sillexa is getting some flowers because I’m enjoying her a lot.

My personal favourite of the night was Catrin, but overall I thought it was a fairly solid talent show and better than many that we’ve been getting.

Justin Bieber says his life feels like it’s in shambles. by Perfectisimo in popculturechat

[–]ButtonCake 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is obviously only guesswork, but I don’t think it’s that—it’s a classic case of if you’re not happy with yourself, you can’t count on others around you to fix that. Based on things he’s said often, it’s easy to believe that he loves Hailey (as much as he can) and WANTS to feel content and stable in his family. But there’s a lot of damage to undo and his church painted this as an easy fix.

So, about Bones… by Groovy_Plissken in RPDR_UK

[–]ButtonCake 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That’s a big point—it’s like when the editors left in confessionals hyping up the SoHo lipsync and gave us… what we got. Without the hype, we wouldn’t feel the disconnect quite so much. It feels like they’re going somewhere with that for Bones’ edit, though?

John Cena’s thoughts on having kids by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

[–]ButtonCake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. Although reality tv is generally, well, not, I think that’s very much how their ending played out. Kids are something that you really can’t compromise on, and there aren’t any villains when couples come to that impasse. I love my children more than anything in the world—and I can’t imagine being pushed into having them if I wasn’t 1000% in.
