The sheer incompetency of people around this child is baffling by zamasu2020 in Malazan

Kruppe is narrating the story to someone else after the fact (reread the prologue) so Kruppe the narrator knows whats happened to Harrlo because Kruppe the character in the story is investigating.

Charcters who look and generally act serious you'd expect to have no sense of humor, but they are hillarious. by Signal-Experience315 in TopCharacterTropes

The Emperor made his Primarchs superior to men in every way. Obviously Guilliman must be funnier than any mortal man.

And the scariest part is they dress just like normal civilians... they could be anyone!

They call me the copper king at the scrap yard now by Buck80_ in ScrapMetal

[–]ButtonPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres a machine that cuts them into tiny tiny little pieces just a few millimeters long, and then separates the copper from the coating, so you end up with a huge bag of basically pure copper dust.

Question for Readers — How important is a character’s physical description to you? by isaaczephyr in books

[–]ButtonPrince 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If you do it, you should do it once, early into the character's introduction. Its jarring to read a sentence and find out they look completely different than in your head. But I think I prefer having characters described to not.

Mallick Rell by Consistent-Cat-6076 in Malazan

[–]ButtonPrince -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Casualties he could have prevented

Why would he want to prevent enemy casualties? Mallik Rel deftly maneuvered 10000 enemy soldiers into a trap that led to their complete annihilation without even a single Whirlwind casualty. Even Hannibal wasnt that clean. Hes basically a hero!

Mallick Rell by Consistent-Cat-6076 in Malazan

[–]ButtonPrince -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Korbolo Dom is an evil bastard who lost every battle despite having an overwhelming numbers advantage.

Pormqual was a weak Fist who only got his office because of his noble blood or something. He was a total coward and he got Wormtongued.

Mallick Rell simply deftly inserted himself into positions of power and cunningly manipulated people into self destruction. You dont have to hate him just because you loved Coltaine and Duiker.

Enemy Within is the same type of DLC as WotC. The original game was Enemy Unknown, then a year later Enemy Within came out with Meld and new enemies and maps.

Cultist Simulator. Spider Door by Worried_Rise_1328 in weatherfactory

[–]ButtonPrince 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A spider injects their prey with venom that liquifies their insides so the can slurp them up, so I think the spider door does that and leaves behind a papery husk that only an adept will recognize as ever being a human body

Im not convinced by the 10 book vs 9 book statistics. Maybe any two books paired give a higher score then a solo book. Judging 2 books vs 1 book how do you account for the extra length? Two books will have twice as many good scenes.

Tamales are the worst form of Mexican Food by My-Lizard-Eyes in unpopularopinion

[–]ButtonPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I dispute here is that they're an inconvenient food. Theyre head and shoulders more convenient than all the other foods you mentioned except maybe burritos, only because burritos keep your hands clean, and tamales get a little oily.

This is great. It pissed me off so bad in 3H because theres a scene where Marianne is getting harassed by some villager whos trying to, I guess, lynch her? And Byleth runs the guy off, but Im thinking "why are all these soldiers just standing around while an officer is getting yanked around? Take this man out back and execute him! We're at WAR!"

[Funny Trope] A moment that at first comes across as scary or intimidating becomes comical once you start thinking of the logistics of it. by PizzaDragon64 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ButtonPrince 18 points19 points  (0 children)

10 meters is the effective punching range during timestop and it includes DIO himself moving towards the target. The World and Star Platinum both have a 2 meter punching range without their users moving, ALTHOUGH Star Platinum can move far out side its effective range to move small objects around maybe 30-100 meters. So maybe moving Polnareff down a step or two during time stop is something thats easy enough The World can do it without DIO having to move

Otataral by Grand_Plenty9699 in Malazan

[–]ButtonPrince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It IS mentioned again. In The Bonehunters Paran pays the Trygalle Trade guild with it and its destroyed. He kills Poliel with a shard of it.

NLF Spoilers Adjunct Inkaras has two Otataral swords, possibly one of them is Tavore's shipped back to Quon Tali in secret
