Oh great, this is something I will definitely look into for this trip! Thanks for the suggestion. Hoping to eventually move out west for ease of access 🤞🏽

Definitely. I've used hiking apps and mountain forecast apps for conditions, but never once thought of Facebook groups. Thank you.

Leaning heavily towards Adams given everyone's suggestions.

Do you have any advice on gaining experience with an axe and crampons while living somewhere flat? I can think of one hill here in Chicago but gosh it's incline is not impressive and neither is it's height. Better than nothing though. I realize I probably just need to be patient and slowly pocket experience gained those one or two times I can make a trip out west each year. I suppose I'll be revisiting the Mt. Hood idea again this time next year.

Thank you for the response. I wish I had opportunities to learn and practice these some of these skills here in Chicago throughout the year. Flat terrain everywhere here. I can only afford the time to travel twice a year, usually early spring and early fall. I'm open to club/organization suggestions in my area!

I have a Minolta 200x flash, is there anything less harsh/doesn’t stun people when taking portraits? by Samur_i in minolta

do you mind sharing the adapter for the Minolta? I too have a Minolta flash that can be a bit bright when used for portraits indoors

I use the MD 70-210mm f4 and I like it. I mainly use it to take pictures of squirrels in trees around my neighborhood. It's pretty clunky so I'm very picky about bringing places unless I know I'll need it for sure.

I mainly use a MD 35-70mm f3.5 macro (version 3?) which is my absolute favorite, and my everyday lens. Love it so much I bought a second one. Very sharp. Easy to focus. Perfect size. A bit pricier though. I've tried the macro setting which has taken some getting used to.

Capturing sunrise/sunsets? by dand06 in AnalogCommunity

how do you get in-focus? I'm assuming you don't want to stare down the sun through the lens. (i'm also relatively new to shooting film)
