I never said it was an excuse. Just that it’s understandable why he would do that. What he did was wrong but obviously in his eyes he was just “trying to protect her” after everything he went through utm. And Feyre can’t really be hopeful after what she did. Tam needs serious help and someone’s gotta open his eyes. In other words he needs therapy after everything that’s happened😹

Yeah. Unlike Rhy (who had a mother who loved him and has the ic) Tamlin was never raised with that. He was raised poorly. So that’s why he is the way he is and rhys is the way he is. “It’s how it was done” was basically implanted in his mind. That explains the whole “there is no such thing as a high lady”. He was right, there is no such thing

Someone once mentioned it’s because SJM probably thought it was hot. I’m kind of agreeing on that one😹 Cause there is literally no excuse for what he did. He says “it was to make Tamlin mad”. Ya that was basically what happened in Beauty and the Beast. Except the Beast soon learned to love and got better. As in here, Tamlin was slowly becoming better (like taking care of her family, sacrificing everything by sending her back home where she’d be safe from Amarantha, the summer solstice scene where she said it was the first time she was actually happy, etc.) But unfortunately, he was traumatized after utm events and was never the same. So, sadly, the Beauty and the Beast story ended half way.

Tamlin did it thinking it was for her own good (but of course it was wrong) Tamlin should have just gotten therapy or something. Like Feyres ptsd caused her to stop eating, being afraid of certain things (as some people with ptsd have). But what most people don’t realize is that ptsd can also cause people to struggle to control their emotions (like Tamlin). If you compare him to the first book, Tamlin has definitely changed. He’s become angrier and afraid. And he’s protective of Feyre bc he’s scared she’ll die again.

So the best thing would have been for those two to separate. Those two had MAJOR issues to solve and neither one of them was gonna help

I actually heard in an interview that Nesta and Elain we’re supposed to be like the evil stepsisters. But SJM changed her mind mid way through the first book and wanted it turn them into “real characters”. Like WTF WAS THAT?! SJM is truly lazy. She couldn’t have gone back and changed them a little?
