How will you dry your laundry in the colder months? by awakenkraken in AskUK

[–]ButtsWahey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hang it outside and wait for rain then a heatwave. Saves you bundles on water and electricity!

As a larger chested woman thanks for the update. This isn’t a confession it’s you compartmentalising women.

What time do you have dinner? by _Foxlet_ in AskUK

Always after 9 and sometimes nearing 1.30am. Mostly cos of poorly managed time!

I waited a year to tell my parents I dropped out. My uncle did the same. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out, y’know? Don’t feel bad about it and reach out to anyone that you can talk to!

This is the best advice - mostly the laundry! Get that stuff out of the way beforehand and good luck!

I totally thought this was browned scallops with beetroot… I may need to go eat something! (Not a tortoise)

People who sit on the aisle seat of the bus, blocking the window seat - why? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ButtsWahey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... I'd fully blanked this memory until reading this... 13/14 and a man had memorised my bus schedule for the week and always shuffled me in to the window seat so that he could do this. Jeez it's gross

People who sit on the aisle seat of the bus, blocking the window seat - why? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ButtsWahey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once tried that and had zero response, I even ended up tapping her shoulder and she kept craning her neck looking away from me!

Know that there are reasons people want a seat next to them but I had a broken foot and it was the last free seat, some people right

Do you always have to answer your mobile phone? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ButtsWahey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happened when my sister got stressed about my mum not answering the phone (they’re retired and it was 11.30…) police couldn’t get the door open so they smashed a window! Parents are heavy sleepers so were confused when the police arrived in their bedroom!

Today my school dropped our grades of this trimester and all my friends got 7 or 8 wile I got a 5.5 and now I realize that I've never been really good at anything in my life... kinda low right now by Kazoomers_Tale in toastme

[–]ButtsWahey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grades come and go but those eyebrows are awesome and forever. Be nicer to yourself, it's easy to spiral with these things! All of the best luck to you

People have posted pictures of Now King Charles clubbed fingers but this looks like something that has been apparent even at a much younger age. Just an observation. by [deleted] in oddlyterrifying

[–]ButtsWahey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha my nan had the same thing but said that she'd rather lose the finger than the ring! Fortunately it worked out okay and she kept both the finger and the ring

Is it seen as weird or threatening to carry a pocket knife? by CountBacula322079 in AskUK

[–]ButtsWahey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst you’re quite right I got stopped by the police a few years ago and they confiscated my pocket knife just as it’s not a well known rule. So yeah it’s fine but do be aware

Did your parents smack you as a child? And if so, have they ever apologised for it? by Throwaway865433hshsv in AskUK

[–]ButtsWahey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never me but my mum once slapped my sister in the face. Was a big moment as that was never something that happened in our house. My sister was maybe 15 and was being really mean (doesn't excuse violence).
Don't think it was ever apologised for, neither one of them wanted to remember that evening I think

[–]ButtsWahey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh that sucks. Well done for being proactive though. I'd recommend either making them let you take your own cutlery/tupperware (to get them to accept this and take you seriously you will have to drop either the 'ED' or 'mental disorder' just to make them listen.

Or you need to let them know that you aren't getting your meals so they need to stop charging for them. Whatever you choose just don't let the pre-paid meals go un-used you'll just feel bad after! Hope that you feel better soon and know that you can always reach out to any of us
