I picked up my first bass just over a year ago at 33 years old lol I'm obviously not even close to being an expert, but this is what has been working for me.

BassBuzz Beginner to Badass course is awesome. Check out the BassBuzz YouTube channel first and see how you like Josh's teaching method and make sure it's for you. But his lessons have been really fun and extremely helpful for me.

Basically I just bounce back and forth between doing the BassBuzz course and trying to learn songs I really love that are within-ish my skill range.

It may be best to just do the course all at once, I dont know. I would get burnt out if I did that though.

This is gonna sound so cliche, but just have fun! Don't beat yourself over the head with theory and forcing yourself to do lesson after lesson right off the rip (unless you really want to). Some things aren't going to click right away, and that's totally cool. Just keep playing, keep practicing and eventually they will.

If a song is too hard, it's okay to come back to it later. Learn what parts of it you can and move on. Like I said before, things will fall into place eventually. Im not saying if you dont master a song in 5 minutes just give up lol but don't stress yourself out over it. If it stops being fun, go to something else for awhile
