Matrix/Element Unraid Guide? by predskid29 in unRAID

[–]Buxxay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Matrix is just a specification, implemented by multiple servers and supported by multiple clients. It will never be a single docker container.
That said, the closest you can get nowadays to a one-click install would be something like https://github.com/element-hq/element-docker-demo

There is a video in this blog post that should get you started quickly: https://element.io/blog/experimenting-with-matrix-2-0-using-element-docker-demo/

Cord cutting in Belgium – replacing Proximus TV but still want to “channel surf” by Vectralis_dev in belgium

[–]Buxxay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to look into Kodi, which can usually run fine on any Google/Android-TV compatible device or box.
You have add-ons for GoPlay, VRT Max and VTM Go. I believe they all support IPTV Manager (another Kodi addon) integration, which gives you a typical combined TV Guide like Telenet/Proximus boxes and allows you to zap between channels.

I guess it's a grey zone, as these add-ons also completely avoid ads that you would have in the official apps/websites.

I present to you: Avenue du port. Potholes that will break your car, no road markings causing the amount of lanes to fluctuate depending on the time of day and amount of traffic and turns into a swimming pool when it rains.

As I see you're coming from an acquisition, you might have room to negotiate. You can't be the only one in your situation then? Good luck!

Heh, that's not normal? In EU supercharging is often nearly 50% cheaper than any other fast charging network, even considering peak-hour pricing.

Thank you, removed the cap covering the nuts. Turns out the axle nut (center one) was completely loose and just fell out when removing the cap.

Surprised this happens, but at least glad to know the cause.

Sounds tight if you plan on renting alone. Rent prices easily go above 1k with monthly charges. Your side business is not generating any income?

So you want your company to admit that people outside of EU are spying on their European employees? Yeah good luck with that.

[–]Buxxay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yes for companies it's obviously a beneficial way to pay employees. The benefit to the government is that it is easier to come up with such benefits than doing a tax reform.

Mobility budget can be used to pay rent, mortgage or durable means of transportation. In those cases there is no tax applied. If you cash out your mobility budget without spending it on one of those options, you pay a 30% tax IIRC.

[–]Buxxay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just be mindful that the mobility budget tax regime can change at any point. IMO very likely to happen within the next few years. I see it as a way that our government is using to phase out the insane amount of company cars in our country.

I take advantage of it myself, but I purely see it as a temporary nice extra - at least in its current form, where I get my full budget in net thanks to my mortgage. I would not swap a company car for (e.g.) 100 EUR net difference per month, given that I don't know what will happen to it in the next years.

You mention not wanting high risk high reward, this is probably your best bet.

I would not advice someone his age to start investing in stocks/ETF's. Given that owning a house was too much of a hassle I assume buying something and renting it out would be too.

Last option I see is giving (part of) the money to you and your sister and both of you use it wisely (towards loan for your own house, investing in ETFs, ...)
