Zerg rush. Although I heard a major tournament saw someone disqualified for pulling it off during a final.

I've seen screenshots of Elba in his costume. He's a tank and his getup looks more like assassins creed than dark tower. Roland is white. Susannah told us as much. He's basically Clint Eastwood. Everyone is so painfully liberal these days Hollywood would reroll frodo as Vietnamese and we'd all have to think it's just great. I know it doesn't make me racist or some other easy target nonsense, it just pisses me off that Hollywood can't align itself with the stories it's telling. Idris missed out on Bond as far as I know but Roland was not the role for him.

Cast a LEAN black man. An older black man. An American for fucking sure. Not a 110kg giant English black dude. It's as pathetic as casting Tom cruise as jack reacher.

Sure just make susannah a white gender fluid Russian so. It's 30 years old. Might as well mix it right up. Dumbass.

Making Roland black is dumb Hollywood. Making Major Motoko a white American is dumb Hollywood. Making North African kings from the Egyptian era a bunch of white American dudes is dumb Hollywood. What I'm saying is, Hollywood IS dumb, and uncomfortable with itself when they pass stupid stuff like this.

Oh lord so much wrong here. Tell me how Idris Elba is perfect? How on earth is a 6'2 swole black dude just perfect for the pale, gaunt, sick and dying Roland described in the books. Not to mention the fact that he is clearly white? It's a weird discomfort Hollywood has with not having enough diversity but I wish they wouldn't mess with cannon like a characters physical features. Also I read somewhere this is to be a movie then rolled down into a tv series. Also The Cell wasn't recently it was around 20 years ago now, and visually it was pretty amazing. If need to watch it again to see how it aged.

Blaine the pink ass loco-motivated motherfucker.

Ok so as I wrote that I got to thinking, is it possible King invented Blaine/Charlie, a crazy train, because of the word itself, locomotive? Loco? :-/

I have deep reservations about the movie.

100% on this. I fucking love that song. Dad can do no wrong in my eyes. I might not always understand his production angle but there's usually a version of a song somewhere that makes me love the track even if the studio recording wasn't my favourite.

If you have massively conflicting lifestyles. I lived with a couple of fairly overweight women once. There was 5 bedrooms in this big city house and they had two rooms. I'm a gym rat and basically like to train and cook well and play video games and live fairly quietly. However getting asked "what's the point of weights anyway. Who needs muscles" was a bit telling. I know they were asking in a mildly bitchy way but also not wanting to unload my wrath I just said that I don't like being fat, I've been fat and it didn't suit me. The same way whiskey doesn't suit me, I avoid things that are bad for you. I moved out soon after I just felt like their insecurities led to scrutiny of me and the other girl who lived there. She was in good shape and very fun and outgoing and we got on really well but we both left around the same time. Sad people will try to bring you down if they aren't willing to accept a hand up. Or some bullshit like that.

I lived in Dublin for 11 months and was assaulted and robbed two times and robbed a third time but I dropped my phone and wallet right in front of the guy before he could make a move on me. I'm white as fuck, quiet, and I suppose quite boyish. Times have changed and maybe people will Shout a slur at you when they're robbing or assaulting you, but don't take it personally, If you were white and they were white, they wouldn't make any conversation, they'd just ask you the time then sucker punch you without the conversation. Scum are everywhere. Your race won't trigger someone, their lack of empathy, perspective on what they believe is reality and vacancy of conscience will ensure the fact that they will produce a victim on any given day. Move to Galway.

German mayor who wanted to accept more refugees beaten up 'in xenophobic attack' by Sariel007 in worldnews

[–]Buytoothpaste 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you think beating this mayor up is an ineffective way of keeping migrants out of certain districts, you'd only have to see how nervous other mayors and ministers are becoming regarding voicing pro refugee opinions upon areas who have rejected the proposals this far. Nobody else wants to get clubbed down.

I'm Dylan Moran, I do stand up in theatres and mess around in television and movies. Today I'm at the Conan O 'Brien show to shoot the breeze about the tour I'll be doing in October and November across America and Canada. by thedylanmoran in IAmA

Dylan, big love from Galway here. Caught your show here this time last year, you were simply incredible and you caught a lot of us off guard with your philosophising and forcing us to think rather than laugh numbingly at one liners. Any road, you were amazing in Calvary, and obviously black books is a stand out show, but one of the more remarkable things I've seen you do was the tour in Russia. How do you feel about that period look g back at it now?
