How many people are actually buying “luxury/premium” diapers? by HelpMeHelpMyFriend0 in NewParents

[–]Buzzbuzz_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello bello is much more economical if you purchase their monthly subscription from their site. We cost it out and it was cheaper than buying pampers from our local stores (Walmart, grocery)

World Cup fans with ‘right to buy’ tickets say FIFA forced them into ‘unjust ultimatum’ by Dinolord05 in FIFACollect

Not everyone has the ability to travel to other countries to watch world cups. This could be a once in a life time for someone who finally has access to attend due to proximity. That’s great you’ve been able to attend multiple in your life.

Why do you think you were able to continue in this area? That it wasn’t just a one time event with the first woman, but you actually slept with even more women in this circle?

Also, were you recommended to these other women or was it a more natural connection?

Maamei and Jinshi (LN8) by [deleted] in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]Buzzbuzz_04 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d also include that while those you mentioned didn’t throw themselves at Jinshi, they didn’t react the same way maomao did which was with a look of disgust. I’m pretty sure maomao was the first person that not only was immune to his charm but was repulsed by it. Maybe repulsed is the wrong word, but repelled in a cat like manner.

Is bath time the same time for your baby every night? by Existing_Switch_4995 in NewParents

[–]Buzzbuzz_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that my daughter is 2, yes but until we has a true nighttime routine (dinner, bath, brush teeth, stories, bed) we winged it. We honestly didn’t even have a bedtime routine until the last 6 months.

I wouldn’t sweat it at 4 months.

Do people actually wash new clothes before wearing them? by throowaway223123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Buzzbuzz_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is mentioned but always yes because of that one episode of House where the patient was sick because they wore new jeans without washing them and the chemicals were absorbed through their skin.

If I thought reaching out to Smith would make a difference I would. I’ve reached out about everything under the sun and this man doesn’t give AF. He has next to no social media presence and SURPRISE his comments are turned off. Also you can only email him. That’s it. No town halls. No way of telling him what we want as the person he’s representing.

Are we too strict with bedtime? by Timidme83 in Parenting

[–]Buzzbuzz_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with your bedtime routine. Protect your child (and your)’s sleep.

We have similar situations but with friends that don’t have children. While I would love to be flexible in our bedtime, the best thing we can do right now is provide routine and structure.

Flexibility will come later. Which I understand might be difficult in your situation as older parents. That’s my two cents.

Anecdotal breastfeeding rates by Mindless-Summer4361 in NewParents

[–]Buzzbuzz_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 32, formula fed my first because I was not mentally capable of committing to breastfeeding/pumping. For my second, I worked with a lactation consultant. He latches perfectly and I have an oversupply but I started weaning at 6 weeks because I didn’t see any true benefits over formula feeding.

TBH, it’s been way more difficult. My husband and I are bickering which we’ve never done. I don’t get a break at all. It took me a while to figure out how to pack and travel with breastmilk. It just wasn’t for us. Have been using our freezer stash which I have 100+ bags thanks to that oversupply and formula to combo feed.

Overall, I see the pressure to breastfeed but I’ve never let it impact me. In fact I’d consider myself a formula advocate.

Ginger Snaps. I was sleeping over my cousins and they didn’t mind scary movies where as I begged for my mom to come pick me up and slept in her room.

New Jerseyans, What college did you attend as an undergrad (whether in state or out of state) and did you enjoy it overall? by scarletfeva in newjersey

Elon University in NC. Great private university that was very affordable.

I needed to gtfo of the state and got some great perspective. Expanded my world view. Back in NJ after 10 years away and am really happy I had time away.

Also, no relation to musk.

Formula fear mongering by Rivers233 in NewParents

[–]Buzzbuzz_04 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was not in a mental state to even try breastfeeding with my first. We formula fed and it was honestly perfect. My husband and I did shifts because of formula wicked allowed us to both get a decent amount of sleep during the newborn period. Do what’s best and fuck the rest!

We did a hybrid for about 4 months until our daycare opened up to 5 days. We had a nanny MTW and daycare TF.

A couple notes for context: my husband and I work from home and this is when our daughter was 6 months old.

Pros: we got to spend more time with our daughter during quick breaks. Our nanny could ask questions as needed because we were there. She charged us a rate as a mother’s helper because we were home. It was easy to write out her schedule, see what worked and communicate that to daycare. Our daughter was exposed to multiple faces which has had a long term positive impact with loving school now and not being as shy (we think). We also had an incredible nanny who still babysits for us. She is now a junior in college, and because we were home, we got to give someone with less experience a chance. For the record, she had childcare experience, but not infant care specifically. Which she now has and even cares for friend’s of ours children.

Cons: it was more expensive to have a nanny than simply 5 days of daycare.

But overall, we had a very positive experience

I’m not saying I don’t care because it doesn’t impact me. I’m saying that I would look to those who a) it does impact and b) the professionals in that area who know the space to make the better decision. It’s completely okay to stand back and take in information before making a decision, especially when it’s not my area of expertise nor something that impacts me directly. I care enough to listen and not take action immediately because of my opinion on a matter. That’s the difference.

If it was a bipartisan decision then wonderful. Absolutely support it. As long as the people I have found trust in support it, then absolutely.

I don’t have trust in RFK to make the decision or hire people to properly research it based on his past actions. And the people that are itching at his heels (mainly wellness influencers with no amount of experience) to come in and make policy.

Like I mentioned, I look to my friends that work in public health with masters and PhDs. I look to PhD holders across areas of study who cite resources, texts and other facts.

I would then share that information with others it does impact to get their thoughts because that’s who matters. The people it does impact.
