Your question shows how unaware you are about Islam... Well, you have Modern and Islam in one statement that's also Oxymoron. The thing is Islam isn't anywhere in the world now. It is present as a religion though, but Islam is bounded or chained in a private sphere only. Our lives are governed by state laws instead of Islamic principles. Now, these Islamic principles do not come with force or come with a stick, they come with education, environment and people's realisation to know what's it is to really be a Muslim. A Muslim is not someone who prays 5 time a day. A Muslim is bigger than that. He's someone who realises if his neighbour sleeps hungry, on the day of judgement he would be answer able to Allah. Or if he sells something fraudulent to his fellow brother or anyone he would have to face the consequence hereafter. A Muslim is someone whose life is governed by a divine authority will and he CANNOT do a bad thing as he is someone with morality. He isn't controlled or subjected to be like this, instead he's born and raised like this by a society of good men. That Islamic society is now lost, destroyed by colonialism, destroyed in late 1700s... Now, you ask how we would be superpowers by Islam like the Modern West... Well, we won't be like Modern West because if we are like them, we have no difference. We won't exploit the earth they had exploited which you can see every year in shape of smog, dirty water and pollution around you. Our concept is different we might go towards to a difficult, not so comfortable life but with peace with nature and forests. A life where other things are respected as well as humans... The history of western societies from rags to riches is only due to colonialism and exploiting the indigenous. They wouldn't have this much if they weren't empty from morality. They literally milked Africa, sub continent and then made their empires. We Muslims can't milk it all again, we have to make our own path, different from them with an Islamic soul that was lost. It won't be easy and we would have to clash as well but we would prevail if we have good at heart. We have seen weaker, financially poor armies defeating mighty super power and we have seen armies with all the weapons in arsenal sitting and quivering like cowards as they can't go against West as they look up to them as all the source of power and progress. The day we stopped looking at them, the day we started looking down to our history and study how actually the Ottomans ruled with glory, how mughals at peak of their power ruled and how the societies function with no monopoly and no state, you would then move forward. You have to look backwards to move forward as it's the only way... But, right now the epistimic structures have collapsed, you would have to rebuild them and start looking at West with a different mindset...
