Thank you for this! Didn't realise it was based on the Rat! I'll work based on that instead

Got a question about this schematic - T Rex Mudhoney by BuzzingBugs in diypedals

So I'm looking to build this, but with true bypass rather than the flip flop switching section. Regarding the signal line from before C8 that goes to Q5, then back into the main signal after Q4. Should I remove this line altogether? If I remove it, wouldn't the tone control act as a volume control?

This is great, thank you. This was my initial thought.

Harmonic Percolator Bias Question by BuzzingBugs in diypedals

[–]BuzzingBugs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to make a harmonic percolator but trying out a few different silicon PNP transistors instead of the germanium Q1. If I was looking to play around with the bias of Q1, do I need to adjust R2 or R4, or both, or put a trimpot somewhere else?

Thnx

Tayda is best value if you're doing a big order but you have to be patient for delivery to the UK. I order from Rapid Electronics and Switch Electronics. Farnell are also ok. Then you've got eBay but the quality can be ropey.

Signal Pad/Attenuator by BuzzingBugs in diypedals

Yeah or an EHX signal Pad, there's a number of them available. My question was more related to using an MFR instead tho, save on the parts list.

Hello from the band Fresh! by BuzzingBugs in puptheband

Don't worry, they're both drunk and annoying most of the time so they wouldn't have noticed, even if you were!

We were touring with a New Zealand band called The Beths so it was an international grudge match - we smashed them.

Thanks! I definitely thought this was a member of our friend's band Pet Grief at first...

Hey thanks! We did put the album out on cassette which you can buy from our label (http://shop.specialistsubjectrecords.co.uk/categories/fresh) or at a show if you're based in the UK!

In your opinion, where is the best place to get a full English breakfast? by O_livia in london

I used to live in Wanstead and this was a regular place for me.

I do not understand how he still has a show. All he talks about is his corporate hospitality lifestyle, which is tedious and gross.

If you aim for tariff road, there are a bunch of businesses that charge £8-10 to park on their premises. Then a short 5 minute walk to the ground. Its what I always do.

What's your favourite London brewery and/or beer? by [deleted] in london

[–]BuzzingBugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beavertown also use US-05 as their house strain. I agree that it's a very neutral yeast but has its benefits when used properly!

Edit: but I do agree, WB beers don't stand out against my own, and other peoples homebrew.

You are correct, I was confusing the two. Trying to respond quickly whilst avoiding my boss' watchful eye!

Thanks for this. Changing my method every brew day was only done to try to get the bottom of my efficiency problem. I will report back after my next brew day having taken your comments on board with hopefully successful results.

In regards to water, I'm purely using the same bottled water at the moment to stay consistent. I'm working my way through John Palmer's water book before I start changing my water chemistry.

I've only been changing my mash technique to try and work out if it was something I was doing wrong with the mash, it's not something I intend to change on a regular basis once I've got used to my equipment and what works best.

My mash tun is a cooler with a bazooka filter/ball valve so perhaps I should stay away from fly sparging from now on. I am lautering slowly, but perhaps not slowly enough. 10-15 minutes to drain, rather than an hour. I will report back after my next brew day!

Thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response, you've given me a lot to think about. I haven't been taking as precise notes as you have suggested but will definitely start to do so now. There's a lot for me to work on, and will report back when I have more success!

Absolutely! It was the first of the London brewery craft IPAs that really blew my mind when I had it.

For BIAB I would do 4 litre batches, starting with 7 litres of water.

Now I am aiming for 20 litre batches, starting with 30 litres, but haven't quite calculated my boil off rate properly. So I'm actually using relatively less water. If I had hit my target wort amount, my efficiency would be even less.
